The only thing I didn't like about the laptop was the keyboard. It was shiny and unless the lighting was right I couldn't see the keys. I use a different method if I ever need to check out an older OS when I have a problem system, with issues. I keep a selection of .ISO files which I can install on a Windows to Go install on an external NVME drive

When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, and 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2.

I do run Linux mint in VMWare. I like it but I wouldn't use it as my daily OS. I'll stay with Windows. That is providing MS doesn't go completely bonkers and ruin Windows. I loved Windows 7. It brought me back to running Windows. I wasn't happy with Windows 8. Windows 8.1 was a little better. I really liked Windows 10. I do like Windows 11. I might love it except I feel that MS is trying to make it what they wanted Windows 8/8.1 to be. A portable device OS. And the fact it is still a work in progress and far from being finished. I don't see it happening, but I would love to see the Windows phone make a return with the Windows 11 OS. I would retire my Galaxy S22+ in a heartbeat. :-)

I did say that it's "ridiculously below spec" :wink:
One of the (many) specs it fails to meet is the minimum of a 'High definition (720p) display' - it's only 1024x600.

My main complaint about portable devices. My old eyes give me problems looking at a small screen. I use to be able to thread a needle for my wife and my mom without glasses. Now, even with my bifocals I need a magnifying glass to read small print. I have a saying, Youth is wasted on the young. ;-)

I've got 22H2 running on a very low-spec Dell E6410 that was manufactured in 2010. Dell's support site warns me that W10 is not supported....

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, and 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2.

    My SYSTEM THREE is a Dell Latitude 5410, i7-10610U, 32GB RAM, 512GB NVMe ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro (and all my Hyper-V VMs).

Back in the day, I got Vista on a new Dell computer, liked it, and never had a problem with it. I think that one of the reasons I've not had problems with new Windows versions is that I've usually gotten them with new computers designed to work with them. My XPS 9510 I'm using now came with Windows 11 and I like it a lot.

Aye, mine has a very early i7. Runs quite well. Only hiccup is that it keeps prompting me to "hook up with my friends" by installing Teams, though I've uninstalled Teams and turned off everything I could possibly find regarding chat, Teams, and suggestions....

With my multi-focal contact lenses, I have the near and far vision I had when much younger. I now prefer working closer with my XPS 15 laptop screen over using a large screen several feet away.
