Is there yet reliable way to prevent windows automatically installing drivers for your devices? Don't post usual, i tried like everything there is and nothing ever worked since Windows 10...

I don't know if this is what you call "usual" but you have Pro. You can use group policy. It works 100% for me.

Someone told me: "W10/11 is supposed to use ExcludeWUDriversInQualityUpdate, but that doesn't appear to consistently work, unless applied in 4 different places. Some users swear it works perfectly, others disagree. You should probably do your own testing."

That was my experience pretty much, i tried so many things, nothing ever reliably worked to block windows driver updates!

If someone bumps into this, also possible solution even so it might not work: How to Disable Automatic Driver Updates on Windows 10/11? | Windows OS Hub

It does work. But MS keeps switching it back off.

It does work. But MS keeps switching it back off.
Is there way to prevent this, i guess script at computer launch to re-add these values in registry would suffice?

I don't mess with scripts, but it sounds like it should work.
I use Winaero Tweaker... it has a check box for this. I just look in there... after an update.

And it looks like the last update disabled it again. :-)

I also use WAU Manager... maybe it keeps the drivers blocked, even when MS unblocks the other one.

If it's the computer listed in your specs, I repeat. Use group policy. Messing with scripts makes no sense when there is a built-in windows option to do it. It's only on HOME one has to use the regedit.

How do we know what counts as usual?

I use wushowhide and it work perfectly for the moment but will cease to work when MS changes it troubleshooting platform by 2025.

Problem is group policy isn't enough, i was told you need to disable it in 4 locations (+ 2 other values) otherwise it doesn't work! How to Disable Automatic Driver Updates on Windows 10/11? | Windows OS Hub
I will re-apply reg after each update i guess, not sure if it will work...

But.... What if you go offline then install the drivers manually? Will it just install the driver's from MS? I find all this insane on MS Part
