Windows has become a OS that is so open that mostly every app were designed to run on Windows, some people dont' have a choice and I do understand that this annoying o have random installs of Edge or Bing

Not really. You see, I like gaming, the software library that using Windows has to offer and many aspects of computing that can only be found on Windows. In several area's nothing else completes. So instead, I will "stick it" to microsoft by working to find ways around their dumbass limitations and will promote those work-arounds at every opportunity while at the same time promoting user rights. In using bypass methods I'm not just telling them where to stick it, I'm actually cramming it right up their back-side. One PC at a time.

Sorry, but you must be living in some parallel universe. The majority of people did not even have direct access to "IBM compatible" computers at home in the 1990s as, for the majority, they were unaffordable (and for many they still are). There was no home broadband as we now know it and an almost total reliance on dial-up network access and with hardly any browsers to choose from; and, until the IE launch, most had to pay for their browser software, or it was provided as part of their ISP Contract with no choice. Oh, and all Windows upgrades had to be paid for and the only advice channels for most home users were through the commercial magazine market. As for legitimate software choices, it was mostly pay for it at enormous cost, often as much as the hardware it was to run on, which was usually out of date within 6 months of purchase, make use of magazine cover samplers of outdated software, or do without.

Um, yes they did. Stateside, PC's became very common in most households in the 90's. Some homes commonly had two. My home had 4, one each for my wife and I and her family had two of their own. We got a home and I bought a PC for our child. We we're not the exceptions to the rule.

What world do YOU live in? In the mid 90's PC's became very affordable. And they are dead cheap now(aside the GPU shortage currently).

Well, Alt+F4 doesn't work, you still cannot bypass connecting to the internet and checking for updates.

Giving a dummy phone number for the account creation (eg. 111111111111111) doesn't work either.

Let's try turning off and restarting the OoBE from the beginning, this time disconnecting from the internet after checking for updates has completed.

At the 'Let's add your Microsoft account' page clicking 'sign-in options' now shows a 'searching' bar across the top, seeming never going to time out.

Starting again with another clean install...

Disconnect after checking for updates has completed. Then on the 'Let's add your Microsoft account' page, just click the 'back' arrow at the top left....

Unlike in that video, I let it complete the checks for updates before disconnecting. It's safe to do so, the MS Account setup page will appear next, but you can then get to the offline account setup by clicking the 'back' arrow at the top left of that screen.

When I updated my wife's laptop from S Mode it was done through the MS Store. I ran into the 10 device per account limit and had to remove the devices I no longer used from my account.

I guess that people avoiding to use a Microsoft account will find that some features will either not work or not be included in later updates! This is yet to be determined as time goes by.

The thing I hate about having to use a MS account to install is that it uses the first 5 characters of your email as your user name. I add a new account with the user name I want and make sure it has Admin rights. Then I delete the original account. I wish MS would allow us to choose our user name when installing with our MS account.

That's my gripe too. I always installed Windows 10 with a local account first, then upgraded it to a MS account. But I am on Pro anyway.

I get all the benefits of an MS account, while retaining a local account.

I don't have a problem using my MS Account. All my computers are logged in using my MS Account. It's just when you do a clean install we shouldn't have to use a local account so we can choose our user name.

It should be noted that Windows 11 "S" mode will not be deployed to the public in any generally available ISO builds. This will only be of concern to users who buy OEM systems with S mode preconfigured.

Legally speaking, they can strip away whatever features they want if their product is still fit for its purpose, and the majority still keeps on consuming. All businesses build goodwill during their early years, cash in on it and when they've made a comfortable niche for themselves, slowly start cutting down quality and features that made them popular among the masses. "Cost efficiency" is the name of this game. It sounds like you are confusing what should be with what is, and underestimating people's ability to adapt to adversities like MS accounts. I would like to see these repercussions as much as you, but I'm a realist so I'm planning on how to adapt to things I've no control over.
