If your keyboard/mouse is not working, you cannot boot into the bootable media to repair or to re-install Windows. You must first make your keyboard/mouse work. As already suggested, you should reset your BIOS and see if your keyboard/mouse work after reset.

And how can I reset the BIOS?

It's true, I load Windows 11 to my USB with Rufus but nothing can happen.

Remove the CMOS battery and wait 5 minutes, then put it back in.

The proper way to reset the BIOS by removing the CMOS battery...

1. Turn the computer OFF.
2. Unplug the computer from the wall.
3. Hold down the Power button on the computer for about 10-15 seconds to drain power from capacitors.
4. THEN remove the CMOS battery. Keep it removed for about 5 minutes.
5. Put the CMOS battery back in.
6. Plug the computer back in.
7. See if you can enter the BIOS.

If you use the jumper to clear the BIOS... make sure that after you clear the BIOS... to put the jumper back to the "default"
position when you're finished.

With the cap on pin 2-3...
Unplug the PC and wait 5 minutes.
Then put the cap back on pin 1-2, and plug the computer back in to the wall.


If you leave it on pin 2-3... the computer won't do anything. :-)

Just read the instructions carefully and you'll be fine. Remember to unplug the PC from the power BEFORE clearing CMOS.

Does your mouse / keyboard now work?

If not, what kind (brand and model) of mouse/keyboard are you using? Does it require a dongle?

If so, it should work. Example, I use wireless Logitech mice and keyboards, which uses a dongle to communicate (NO Bluetooth). In my instance both also work in the BIOS. However, on some older boards, you may be required to enable "Legacy USB" some dangled mice and keyboards won't work without the feature enabled. So, my suggestion is to enable "Legacy USB" (or something like that) and see if this helps.

In the meantime, if you have a wired mouse, attach it to the PC and enter the BIOS and see if it works, if so, Enable Legacy USB, and see if that solves your issue.

Uh... with that disabled... the USB devices should be available BEFORE Windows boots.
It's kind of a double negative.


When "enabled" the USB devices will NOT be available before Windows boots.

As I understand it from the computer specs posted in his profile by @Mohamet his keyboard and mouse are USB interface with wireless.

From the manual he will need to check the USB settings once he's finished the clear cmos process. They should all be enabled. From the motherboard manual page 86.

After reset BIOS the keyboard work. After this, select to boot from old drive but again I'm get a black screen

If the USB stick that has the ISO... is already inserted... then it's NOT being "seen" for some reason.

If the USB stick is NOT inserted... then insert it.

My Logitech keyboard does work in bios (USB/wireless), but your right sometimes they don't. That is why always have a couple of really old wired usb keyboards around.

Maybe The BIOS is not set to boot off the Rufus USB?
