ShareX - How Do I Do That?

Nope doesn't work. If I focus on the web page then Terminal is hidden in background. If I single click Sharex in system tray it works. I just don't get the dotted lines showing the region. Neither full screen. I'll check to see if I change back to CTRL + Pr Sc

Works with CTRL +PrSc

PS it works on desktop but not with a web page in the background.

Do you have Settings set to show screen-wide crosshairs?

Bear in mind, there may be other programs that will hijack the PrtScn key, or combinations thereof, when running, even though ShareX is running in the Systray with hotkeys pre-defined.

OneDrive is one of them but, I can't remember how that happens..., EaseUS Screen Recorder is another...
Screenpresso is another, only when open...

No OneDrive and nothing else using PrSc. I have to put focus on my second screen then it will work. Might be using two screens on the laptop is the issue but the default CTRL+PrSc works ok

When you initiate a capture, is the Rectangle Region option highlighted?

That shouldn't matter...
With the browser full screen and Terminal Admin in front..., click on the Taskbar once to shift focus, then try PrtScn.

Pressing the PrSc does nothing. I move the pointer to second monitor and click on the desktop then press PrSc it works.

That was it. Doesn't explain why CTRL+PrSc works though?? Thanks for pointing out focus on taskbar, better that to second screen.

Okay..., and what do you end up capturing, the whole display array or, can you still select a custom region?

I can select custom region. Do you have to change focus to capture the Terminal region?

No. Once you are in capture mode, the selection rectangle will lock to the edges of whatever window you are hovering over...

Weird. It's a no-no for me for some reason when Terminal is admin only :zany:

Yup! Just take focus away from all windows before you enter capture mode.

I think it's a security measure involving many applets, especially administrative ones!

Ironically though, if you PrtScn while an admin window has focus, it will still go to the Windows Clipboard, but the entire display gets captured!

Well I changed the key to 'volume mute' and it works. It's definitely to do with the PrtScr key on my laptop. Just can't think what can be affecting it.

Edit: changed 'capture entire screen back' to Prt Scr only and that works.
