ShareX - How Do I Do That?


Screenpresso is available in the Microsoft Store and thus, as are all MS Store apps, automatically kept up to date. It's fully functional and, as I understand it, the only difference from the paid version is that the paid version is required if used in a corporate environment.

I’ll be honest, I have invested so much time tweaking and learning ShareX, I think I’ll stick with it.
I was finally able to created a task for ShareX to open as an elevated process at startup without a UAC (as the normal channels weren’t working) This was needed as I seem to have an isolated bug where settings wont save unless ShareX is run as admin.

I have also found a place to add Photoshop to ShareX (will show you later) but I am yet to find out how to utilise the addition. As I would be happy to use ShareX and then send to photoshop for custom annotation.

No doubt, there are more users than us that would appreciate a better annotation system in ShareX. Drop down menu items on things like arrows/text/shapes for variation etc, would seem logical.
They haven’t finished yet. I suppose its about us making suggestions at GitHub and waiting for their seemingly/understanably slow process with updates.
But as you said it is free. I regularly donate to FreeFileSync and a few others, I believe I’ll add this to my list of regular but sporadic donations.

Any free app I use every day (FreeFileSync has been a life saver, have dropped about 300 on them over a couple of years.) is worth my contribution. We do what we can.

And, need I remind you how gorgeously ShareX's Image Viewer renders images!?
I can't remember where I posted how to make it the default viewer, though..., it's somewhere in this thread or, in the actual ShareX thread!
I might do a video tutorial on it..., that would be fun!

Add action
Right click on the image in the ShareX image window and "Run Action"

The only time I would open a screenshot in, (in my case, Affinity Photo), would be to save it, if need be, as a .jxl file..., much smaller lossless file.
