Hello.

Recently got myself a new PC and decided to get Windows 11 for it as it had the system specs for it.
However I've had an issue with my screen timer and sleep timer resetting to 1 hour and 2 hours respectively.
I just woke up to finding my PC being in sleep more while I was downloading games through steam, meaning the game downloads had stopped thanks to PC being in sleep mode instead.
This tends to happen every now and then, sometimes with a restart of the PC, sometimes not.
I just went into the control panels power config to change the sleep and screen timer to 0 again.

I can only speculate but if you are using a Power plan that was set up by the computer maker then perhaps they have included some utility that resets it to what they put in.

I'm currently using Windows own High Power plan which I modified. Maybe I should create a completely new one and see if that resolves it.
Edit: I built this PC myself, but I do know ASUS ROG sometimes puts in their own power plan but not with this motherboard.

Hello, Soma.

Welcome to the forum. ;)

If you have time, there would be no harm in trying. ...the whole 'process of elimination thing'. :-)

I wish I could offer you help, but I honestly have no idea.

Best of luck!

OK, I was wide of the mark then.
I recall this happening to several people in Windows 7 days but have not seen it reported since Windows 10 started.

Personally, I'd check the Bios, Settings & the Start menu for anything to do with power saving to see if there's a setting that refers to being able to change settings for you.
Personally, I would not run the Power troubleshooter because that's been a waste of time & effort ever since it was written over a decade ago.

Best of luck,
Denis

Thank you all for the responses and help.
So funny thing. I decided to try boot in selective mode, no startup items or services but Microsofts, it didn't change the timers.
I decided to boot up with some selected items I may think is doing the issues, it didn't change the timers.
I decided to boot what I always booted to when the issue arrived, no change in timers.
This is getting very confusing.

I also did poke into the BIOS a little trying to find any power saving settings or anything vaguely related with no luck.
