Doesn't work

Try for example to set Snipping Tool with 5 sec delay and then run regedit.exe -- the whole screen darkens until you enter the continue or cancel popup -- but you can't capture the popup !!!

Try it.

Capturing a UAC prompt is perhaps the one single example where Snipping tool doesn't work and Snip & Sketch does. Snipping Tool works for every other case I can think of (Start menu, Notifications, etc.).

I use Snipping Tool for snips and Bandicam free for whole-sceen and video captures. I vastly prefer Snipping Tool to Snip and Sketch ( too many mouse clicks for certain tasks and doesn't capture certain popup items like the System Tray or anything on the taskbar. Don't want to "tweak").

There are 3 capture options in windows that I know, the "Printscreen button", "Win + ALT + PRINT" and "Win + PRINT".

That's exactly the one I was trying to explain where snipping tool wasn't working - without disabling the secure desktop UAC !!!.

BTW instead of the NO thing on W11 I just get "C" - some people have reported this type of dialog as having got hosed up - especially when using other languages than English - where English is the install / base language and one has added other language packs.

@Almighty1 Yes it seems to work ok for me, There's a youtube vid for an older version of the software but works just the same.

Thanks, it seems like the problem was with TechSmith Snagit v2021.4.2 Build 10172 but works fine with v2021.4.3 Build 11096.

I use ShareX and sometimes, the :win: + Shift + S.

I uses ShareX for screenshots, GIF recording (but encoding hogs CPU and RAM), and Color Picker.

I uses the
:win:
+ Shift + S combination so I will not attach my Software drive.
