The problem is that the C drive is not next to the I drive
Yes, you are right, Tom. When I first mentioned this, for some reason I believed that they were neighbours. Then I put on m glasses after something you said.

I suppose you could use Minitool to;
Remove i: (if that’s what you decide to do)
Extend the first recovery partition to use the unallocated space
Shrink the first recovery partition so that new allocated space is at the beginning
Extend C:

Probably also diskpart options to move the partition, I am limited in my knowledge of dispart.
You could also probably remove that first recovery partition (and i: ), you only need one. Something else I am not familiar with, I mean ensuring that the remaining recovery partition is correct.

Whatever you decide to do, I think you said you had a backup.

I kind of see it as quite relevant due to the possible misunderstanding of partitions and drives.

Did you try and create an extra partition on your external drive and ended up with the i: Drive on C: without realizing?
There’s no reason to have 2GB of unallocated space on the external that I know of. You can see that as irrelevant, I see it as telling.
Sometimes Linux partitions will show up as 'unallocated'.

ar admin cmd prompt:
reagentc -disable

then you could delete the three partitions to the right of the os partition (which is C in your case)

where those 3 partitions used to be will now be unallocated space

then extend C to incorporate the unallocated space except the last 1gb

create an ms recovery partition from that last 1gb

at admin cmd prompt
reagentc -enable

diskmhmt.webp

Can be done with diskpart commands or a 3rd party partition manager.

If you havent done that kind of thing before, it might take you 5 minutes

Can be done with diskpart commands or a 3rd party partition manager

That’s what I was trying to remember. I’ve seen you suggest this before, of which I used and fixed some issues.

Same. Haven't used that in some time. Then again, I haven't used diskpart in CMD for at least a year.
ar admin cmd prompt:
reagentc -disable

then you could delete the three partitions to the right of the os partition (which is C in your case)

where those 3 partitions used to be will now be unallocated space

then extend C to incorporate the unallocated space except the last 1gb

create an ms recovery partition from that last 1gb

at admin cmd prompt
reagentc -enable

Did you look at the printout for the last 3 sets of commands you got me to run and jump through hoops to send? Did they show anything?

You can do this, sure. I never tire of stating that user preference prevails. That said executing those processes from CMD allows you to make those modifications directly and for some this eliminates any potential risk of error. You're going into the nitty-gritty so-to-speak, bypassing any potential third party interference. Some folks feel more comfortable with using a GUI. Some folks don't want to fork out for the extra features that come with paid for third party software. To each their own. SIW2 and zbook have both offered you a way to cut to the chase. The choice is yours.

Gave Dell touch screen with Windows 11 to daughter and got me an OTVOC. Being a PC builder I own many desktop PCs as well. I am a father of five providing PCs, laptops, and tablets for all my family, most of which I have modified, rebuilt, or simply built from scratch. I do not own a cell phone, never have, never will.
The results from the share link were posted in post #53.

The text file was missing from the share link (step #2).
It can run again as needed.

The computer appears to have both Macrium and Aoemi backups?

The recovery partitions were disabled.

When available post share links for steps (1 - 3).

I can’t tell you if one of yours is a result of AOMEI or Macrium, if at all, either..
I think it's neither one. I have Macrium and AOMEI added to my boot menu and my computer doesn't have the extra recovery partitions.
