Noticed that when booting up and signing in the taskbar weather forecast is grey and not actually being active, not until having to click on it and that's when the correct forecast gets synced/active, is this how it's supposed to be? or something isn't right?

IF... that's the way it's supposed to be, I think that's a good thing.
That way... the weather widget isn't using your internet connection when you're not using the weather widget.

ON, all the time weather... will be using your internet connection... all the time.
Unlike a simple syncing of a clock for example, having the weather ON all the time uses a much bigger chunk of your internet connection than having something simple like a clock sync, ON all the time.

I live in the US, and have found that just using the weather channel's site, to be much easier.
IF you're in the US as well... just type in your zipcode and then book mark the page to weather in your area...

Just wish if there was an option to allow it to connect as soon as the system starts, I doubt that having something like this would cause any inconveniences, it literally just takes a few seconds to sync the weather and that's it, it doesn't need to be connected all the time, maybe it updates every few hours besides the first sync when booting up, like my phone for example you have the option to specify when the weather should connect and update the forecast.

I tend to agree with your statement.
The weather icon and current temperature data should also be cached so that at restart you don't end up with an ugly meaningless cloud.

That would be a "good" idea, so MS probably won't do that. :D

I too use that Weather Channel program, customized to my zip code. I keep the link on my Bookmarks Toolbar.
I wouldn't want it running all the time, and why should I?
It's not something I'd look at more than once a day anyway. It's not like watching a movie! :lmao:

I uninstall the weather app with W11 because I use Weather Watcher by Singer Creations. I can hover over the temperature icon in the System Tray and see a small pop-up or click the icon and view all kinds of information about local and global weather. I also got lucky about 10 years ago and was offered a lifetime license for $75.00 for three computers.
