Had an email today from "my bank", Straight away I thought Spam as it showed the account as one I did not recognise,

I've just spoke to bank and it's genuine

, the account they sent in against is an ISA savings account I use to store money for the taxman :crys:

most of the contents of the email was telling me to look out for, and report any unexpected / strange emails :lmao:

Both the young lady on the other end of the phone, and I, had a chuckle over that but she did say thanks for reporting my concerns

Always best to check. I've been getting dodgy looking text messages about various accounts being compromised, including Apple Pay. Just as well I've never had an Apple Pay account.

After 10 hours of call to vodafone to tell them my broadband router was faulty, I finally got a new one today and it works fine.

The old router would only work on 5 GHZ not 2.4 GHZ.

Firstly, a truly awful India helpdesk where most had really thick accents and were difficult to understand. Everybody was in a giant open plan office and background noise drowned out speaker!

Various (unhelpful) help team responses:

1) your connecting devices must be faulty (all 7 I asked - what is the odds of that?)

2) Have you reset router -(Dohhh at least 20 times)

3) We cannot see a problem with the internet line (WTF has line got to with router radios transmitting SSID!)

4) You cannot split the bands into separate SSIDs any more (again - I should see same SSID on both 2.4 and 5 band regardless)

5) I asked a guy how much experience he had, and he replied 1 year. I told home I have been dealing with routers since before he was born!

6) I will call tier 2 and call you back (yep - never happened - 30 min wait to get through to service and had to repeat things 10 times)

7) Best one of all - 2.4 GHZ band is no longer used and has been discontinued. I asked if call was being recorded, guy said yes - I said good as you are lying and I am going to report you!

My best advice is not to choose vodafone broadband - the customer service is terrible.

Sounds about right. I was made redundant when my job was outsourced to India. They weren't the brightest bunch. Caused all sorts of problems with the salesforce getting IT support. A Geordie and an Indian just don't speak the same language.

Hoping for a good prognosis for her. Emergency room situation at hospitals in my part of the country is horrible too. Hours of waiting. A full waiting room with people sitting in the floor and in the halls. It's so bad that over the last couple of years several local doctors have built 5 brand new smaller emergency centers that are fully equipped to handle most situations. Everyone I know uses them rather than go to the hospital emergency room. If the doctors there decides a patients needs hospital admittance, they have their own ambulance to transport to the hospital, assuming the hospital has a vacant room. I know y'all are worn out. Take care of yourself so you can take care of her.

It's seriously bad here in the UK, I have signs of one of my regular chest infections and would usually simply visit my GP [general Practitioner] and get some AntiBiotics and probably a course of Steroids.

Unfortunately at present we have a UK wide resurgence of Covid 19, plus several variations of good old Influenza.

Looks like I will need to follow my procedure I used during the last Covid Pandemic and get my doctor to "fax" a script to my pharmacist and then drive to the pharmacist and get the medications as it's safer than waiting in the GP waiting room to consult my GP and collect the script

My brother's 3rd day in hospital with suspected brain stroke, due to Covid policy still in effect no visits and have to make an appointment just to talk to main doctor. Info hard to get by.All I know is that his life was in danger for a day but stabilized and getting better although sedated. All started5 days ago, I suspect he drank with friends and was sleeping for 2 days straight.Woke up with left side partly paralyzed and had trouble convincing him to drive him to ER. They transferred him to hospital specializing in strokes. Chances are that he will stay there for at least a week for MR, testing and treatment but should pull out all right, Folks, hypertension and drinking don't go well together. I haven't had a drop for over a year.
PS. A friend had Covid vaccine and 3 booster shots and finally got infected although at home with mild case.
