Just a short status report, to explain my long absence.
End of August, I had a stroke. I had a lot of luck, my speech and face were not affected, just the right side of my body (arm / hand, leg) were paralyzed. Few times in hospital, now in rehab as out-patient.
I'm right-handed, so suddenly everything was difficult, from getting up from bed, going to toilet, getting dressed and undressed, not able to use PC mouse, typing with left hand only. An additional annoyance is smoking: over 30 years, I have rolled my cigarettes by hand, which, I can tell you, requires two hands. Please, no comments about smoking, my doc told me that it kills me slowly, but it's OK. I am in no hurry
Today, the news are mixed. My right arm is getting better, I can already move and control right thumb and index finger, although the hand itself is still "curved", cannot straighten my fingers. The right leg is then another matter. I have extremely difficult to walk and stand, as I can barely lift or move the leg. In addition, I have constant cramps. Past two three weeks have been really difficult because of that.
Anyway, things are getting better, rehab works slowly but surely. Trying to get "back in the saddle", to be more active here.
