Mine started with latest MS CU.
Just for checking, open TTB menu then go to Desktop/Accent color choose a value, mine is set to 0000007D, reboot the pc and see if you experience my issue.
Before latest MS patch update, my settings were always automatically applied once TTB loaded.

Hmmm. Might be the applied color thing, mine is set to just clear and Windows does the colorization based upon my wallpaper.

Just added another ID number for File Explorer in the first post of this topic.
(May prevent File Explorer crashes or other weirdnesses).

In my case... after 23H2 I noticed a desktop.ini file in my C:\Users folder
Normally, I just delete those. When I deleted this one... I lost my File Explorer "settings" (Options).
Anyway, after applying the new Vivetool ID number for File Explorer... I can now delete that desktop.ini file with no loss of settings.

Thanks to @jed for finding this one. :-)

In 23H2 (and in the 22H2 version that has come out at about the same time as 23H2) the old Vivetool command with id:37634385, 36354489 does not function anymore. You would need to use these numbers: id:37634385, 40729001.

I first used the old command and then I got the problem, that the file explorer would not open, it just flashed when clicking a shortcut to a folder on the desktop. I don't know if that is neccessary on all systems, but I rather mention it, so that you know why it might not do what you expected it to do.

Yeah buggy
It works but leaves the cut/paste/...... icon on a large white bar lol so yeah not good this is on dark theme 22h2 though

Wanted to try this because explorer started popup in from again using 11 explorer
Guess I'll have to go back to win-7 explorer again with EPatcher see if that gets rid of the damn explorer popup in front of a movie....

I have File Explorer tabs disabled in Windows 11. After installing KB5034765, File Explorer crashes. Any fix for this issue other than uninstalling KB5034765 ?

Yes.

Undo the Vivetool tweak that disables File Explorer tabs.

Like so...

vivetool /enable /id:37634385,36354489,40729001 ...and reboot. <--- this will enable File Explorer tabs, so you can do the updates and File Explorer won't crash.

Microsoft broke the no tabs tweak, back in February, I believe.
We don't like it either, but MS has bigger sticks than we do.


And for anyone that's, "built to rock"...

You can also do this:

vivetool /fullreset

assuming you don't have other features you've enabled or disabled and want to keep as is (unlikely).
