VIVETOOL, and how to use it...

I do almost the same thing. I keep a text file with the working ID numbers and what they are for.
I know that's not the same as a .bat file, but since I hardly ever re-install... it works for me. 8-)

I don't think MS will intentionally break this Vivetool fix, unlike some others.
I don't think they really wanted to break the 3-dot drop down menu.
It was probably just a side effect from something else.
I mean, MS forced the 3-dot menu on us anyway.

This one wasn't like the... File Explorer tabs for example.
They broke the Vivetool fix for that, with the very next update.
They really wanted "everyone" to have File Explorer tabs.

The folder that I created is still there, so maybe without the folder it still would be broken. 🤷‍♂️

The zVive folder?
They won't remove that. If they wanted to, they'd just block/break the ID numbers.


Ok... being as how I'm a old guy with stitches in my neck, I'm gonna take a nap. :-)
The 3-dot menu should be fixed with the vivetool tweak.
If MS ever "fixes" the 3-dot menu, we will probably have to UNDO the vivetool 3-dot menu tweak.

Such is life. LOL

I can't tell what you did, because you didn't post a screen shot of the Command prompt window.

But if you created a zVive folder on the C: drive (like in the 1st post)... then the commands would be as follows..

cd C:\zvive


Then at the zVive prompt...

vivetool /fullreset

I've never tried the /fullreset command, but I would think it works.

I don't use Bitlocker, so I have no idea how or even if, it affects Vivetool. 🤷‍♂️



Maybe try vivetool.exe /fullreset

When the fullreset command works... it should ask you...

Are you sure you want to perform a full reset? [Y/N]

Do you answer... "Y" ??

When command prompt gives you the [Y/N]... the only key presses it will accept are... y or n.

You can't just hit the "Enter" key and expect it to work.

I dunno. Usually uppercase doesn't matter, but try it again with an uppercase Y.

To post a screenshot on this forum...​

1. Take the screenshot, (or camera pic), edit it as desired, save to your desktop as .png or .jpg (max. size = 2MB)
2. Left click in your post, where you want to place the screenshot.
3. Click the Attach Files button at lower left, browse to your image and select it.
4. Then click Insert, I usually choose the Thumbnail (smaller) option, or there is a Full Image (larger) option.

It's not fast, but you could use the vivetool /query command.

It will list all the ID numbers you used.
Then you can enable or disable them one at a time. ^^

If the original command was "enable" then just do "disable" to undo.
If the original command was "disable" then just do "enable" to undo.


OR.... you could just restore the backup you made, before you ever first used Vivetool.

'Cause we all know that... EVERYone uses backup software. ^^
