everything broken on my 23H2 laptop. windows update not working. have rolled back to several restore points. tried repairing, just need to do in-place

can I use any 23H2 ISO for in-place upgrade or does it need to be my version? hopefully I can grab that and get this done.

Thanks, didn't see how to get from this link, downloaded what I thought was 23h2 and ended up with 24h2! working but some connectivity issues, Windows update still stuck and windows apps are still corrupted mostly. maybe I can get 2024-11 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 Version 24H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5046740) manually and install, could help a bit

I believe Microsoft is acting irresponsibly! Their latest release (24H2) is blatantly broken, and they should provide a clean, reliable ISO for users to reinstall the system from scratch. Instead, users are forced to scour the web for ISOs from sketchy, untrustworthy websites. Who are the overpaid managers incapable of delivering basic features to meet fundamental user needs?

This makes me very angry, and I think I will ditch using Microsoft entirely in the future.

First, Welcome to ElevenForum!

What you have stated is not very well thought out. Every version of every OS ever made - Windows, Linux, UNIX, etc., every last one of them have bugs. Hundreds of them (and that is conservative). I have NEVER ever run an OS that was bug free, and neither have you, and I've been working with PCs since the early 1980s.

The big question is this: Are there any bugs so egregious that they would be considered showstoppers? Things like bugs that would cause you to loose your data. If not, my suggestion would be to employ workarounds until you get a fix for what vexes you so terribly.

I'm not trying to say that various bugs are not annoying, I hate them as well. However, because I have been doing this for so many years, I've figured out that I can be in a state of perpetual anger over these issues, or I can just move on with my life and know that these issues will eventually get fixed - and replaced by new bugs
