I don’t know what to do. I’ve downloaded the floppy zip from Asrock but it doesn’t work yet. I can see the disks. Is there something I have to do? Thank you.

You shouldn't need any drivers outside of those in the Windows installer to complete the installation in AHCI mode.

Things are more complex if the board BIOS is set to RAID mode. So, don't do that.

This error can be triggered by a missing driver for your USB3 controller. Try moving your USB drive to a legacy USB port.

missing driver for your USB3 controller

Happens a lot when people try to install win7 via usb3 port. Not sure why that should be the case for win10/11

Can you see the disks by browsing with notepad?

at cmd prompt type

notepad

press enter

when notepad pops up you can click file>save and use the save dialog to browse around

It’s not in RAID mode I know that for sure.

Are you sure? On our newer mobo's RAID is known as VMD (volume management device). If your VMD controller is enabled,
you're in RAID mode. Disabling the VMD controller enables AHCI mode. It won't say as much, but it does.

In your UEFI/BIOS, Advanced, VMD configuration.

I believe that you don't need to enable Secure Boot. The installer requires that it be available, though.

I also think that the disk you're installing on would typically need to be GPT if it's 2GB or larger. If you're doing a clean install to an unused drive, it'll be set up as GPT.

This may be a stupid question, but what sort of medium are you installing 11 from? I hope that it's a USB thumb drive, formatted as FAT32.

Also: the suggestion to put the thumb drive in a USB 2.0 port seems like a good one. I presume that you won't need any additional drivers for one of those.

I’m running into problems like these when I try to get it to initialize so that I can see it in the set up.

It seems like I can’t create GPT partitions. I don’t know why I did have Linux installed on here, but that should not be a problem. I wiped the machines in the in the UEFI

you probably have two controllers and one that is not recognized is which your drive is on.. in example so if you have sata 1-3 on one controller and sata 4-6 on second controller that isnt recognized on which is drive..

So I was able to clean the disc and create GPT partitions, and everything is good, but I can’t get the driver to load. It simply will not. I’ve tried the driver from the website directly related to this motherboard and still no go.

All your drives are MBR and on your h670m the main drive must be GPT.

I don't think you need to load IRST driver. Attached is a IRST AHCI. Just in case, extract to a folder on the Win 11 USB installation drive and load it during installation.

Is your Win 11 USB installation drive formatted as Fat32? Did you build the USB Win 11 23h2 installation drive using MCT ?

I think the main problem is that you're trying to install as UEFI on a MBR drive. You must delete ALL partitions on the main drive till you have one and only one unallocated space and then proceed (see below).

Reset BIOS or load defaults.
Set Disk mode to AHCI, not RAID
Select OS mode = UEFI or Select OS mode = other + UEFI (depends on BIOS).
Disable fast boot and secure boot (you can turn it on after installation)

Windows can be installed in two ways: Legacy-MBR or UEFI-GPT
To install as Legacy-MBR you must boot the installation drive as Legacy
To install as UEFI-GPT you must boot the installation drive as UEFI.

As you have a UEFI BIOS, you should install as UEFI-GPT
Detach any other drives (SATA or Power cable) from the MB.

During POST, press F12(?) to launch the boot menu. You will see two options for the USB drive. USB UEFI (Name) and USB (Name). Select USB UEFI (Name) to install as UEFI-GPT.
Go to install and load the IRST driver and delete ALL partitions on the main drive till you have one and only one unallocated space and then proceed.
If you want to use a local account What is "oobe\bypassnro"
