I'd like to know how they were using the Beta version for two weeks when it was just released a few days ago. Plus they said they were running the production version. I agree with z3010, They must be from the future.

My take on Windows 11,

I rather like Windows 11. To me it's a breath of fresh air in both aesthetics and performance. An OS built for the hardware (and software) of today.

Some of us have super-builds with high end components where an OS like 11 could awaken that beast. Like many have stated the OS even at its raw stage feels a lot snappier than Windows 10. Just my guess here but I believe Microsoft is going to cut a lot of dead weight (aka coding) to make the OS more responsive and why the insistence of newer hardware.

if I have any "annoyances" with the OS it's having to adjust to the changes and new locations for a myriad of settings and adjustments. Though I can’t really call that an annoyance for a new OS :)

All that said, be reminded we are in the early Dev aka "Development phase” of the OS, so those looking for perfection are going to be disappointed. And I don’t think the world has even seen the perfect OS ;)

UAC prompt almost always starts minimized. This was not an issue on 10. 100 prompts a day equals 100 more clicks. :eyeroll:

Turn UAC off, unless you're apprehensive about what you're doing.

I get UAC starting minimized on 10 but mainly on my older PC's. I assumed it was because they didn't respond in time but idk.

As for annoyances, my main bugbear is increased mandatory use of mouse. I can't do Win-x then press 'U' 'U' to shutdown for example.

Works perfectly for me. Pressing WIN + X + U+ U shuts down the PC.

It happens all the time. Some companies do a great job of getting their software ready when there are changes in an OS, and some fail. Very common for some companies to be ready, though.

Same in Windows 10, Edwin. I don't know the number of times I've sat waiting for something to happen and finally realize I need to click on something behind the winder! Sheesh!

The first issue is caused by things that usually try to steal focus and be on top. Things like the ShareX screenshot selection. I started using the built in screenshot program (Win+Shift+S) and it hasn't happened since. I'll go back to ShareX once this bug is fixed.

Problem solved!

Past weeks, I have tried about everything I could think of. Router and NAS restarts, Windows network resets, everything.

Today, after one more NAS restart, I decided to check which network related services were currently either disabled, or set to manual start. Going through the list, I noticed that Net Tcp Port Sharing service was disabled. I set it to automatic start:

Again NAS restart, computer restart, run Macrium Reflect, and create a full backup to NAS. I almost cried when I saw this:

It's not full gigabit speed, but I can live with 500 to 600 Kbps transfer rate when imaging, instead of between 25 and 100 Kbps I had.

Today, after one more NAS restart, I decided to check which network related services were currently either disabled, or set to manual start. Going through the list, I noticed that Net Tcp Port Sharing service was disabled. I set it to automatic start:

Again NAS restart, computer restart, run Macrium Reflect, and create a full backup to NAS. I almost cried when I saw this:

It's not full gigabit speed, but I can live with 500 to 600 Kbps transfer rate when imaging, instead of between 25 and 100 Kbps I had.

This service is disabled/stopped on my PC but my backups still hit 1.2Gb/s?

You backup to NAS connected to a router like me, not to computer? If so, I can't explain that. I just know, that in my case it helped to set the service to start automatically.

Another option removed (how can removing features be considered desirable) is the ability to hide Microsoft Store Apps on your library! I now have a massive list of apps I no longer use (there was not a way on W10 to delete them from list but you could hide them!).
