Hello Windows Insiders, today we are releasing Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25375 to the Canary Channel.

REMINDER: As builds released to the Canary Channel are “hot off the presses,” we will offer limited documentation for builds flighted to the Canary Channel (no known issues for example), but we will not publish a blog post for every flight – only when new features are available in a build. And like the previous Canary Channel build, this build has a few new features and changes to document.

What’s new in Build 25375​

Support for Microsoft Endpoint DLP on Windows on Arm (Arm64) builds​

You can now extend Microsoft Endpoint Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies and actions to endpoints running Windows on Arm (Arm64) which allows you to detect and protect sensitive data in files part of your digital ecosystem. This enables you to introduce policy controls for scenarios such as when an information worker using a Windows endpoint powered by Arm chipset from accessing sensitive files and trying an egress action such as copying to a USB, or copy to clipboard, notepad, etc.

As part of your DLP Policy definition, you can leverage the current conditions and actions that are already available for use and there is no additional setting involved.

Ensure your ARM64 endpoints are onboarded to Microsoft Endpoint DLP by using any of our supported onboarding methods.

For developers​

You can download the latest Windows Insider SDK at aka.ms/windowsinsidersdk.

SDK NuGet packages are now also flighting at NuGet Gallery | WindowsSDK which include:
These NuGet packages provide more granular access to the SDK and better integration in CI/CD pipelines.

SDK flights are now published for both the Canary and Dev Channels, so be sure to choose the right version for your Insider Channel.

Remember to use adaptive code when targeting new APIs to make sure your app runs on all customer machines, particularly when building against the Dev Channel SDK. Feature detection is recommended over OS version checks, as OS version checks are unreliable and will not work as expected in all cases.

About the Canary Channel​

The Canary Channel is the place to preview platform changes that require longer-lead time before getting released to customers. Some examples of this include major changes to the Windows kernel, new APIs, etc. Builds that we release to the Canary Channel should not be seen as matched to any specific release of Windows and some of the changes we try out in the Canary Channel will never ship, and others could show up in future Windows releases when they’re ready.

The builds that will be flighted to the Canary Channel are “hot off the presses,” flighting very soon after they are built, which means very little validation and documentation will be done before they are offered to Insiders. These builds could include major issues that could result in not being able to use your PC correctly or even in some rare cases require you to reinstall Windows. We will offer limited documentation for the Canary Channel, but we will not publish a blog post for every flight – only when new features are available in a build.

Our Canary Channel won’t receive daily builds; however, we may ramp up releasing builds more frequently in the future.

The desktop watermark you see at the lower right corner of your desktop is normal for these pre-release builds.

They also said Hot Off the Presses. If these builds are hot, I hate to see what they call cold. I'm only staying on the Canary builds because I don't feel like doing a clean install.

Hot of the press could mean anything, even they are not sure, they have own definitions for everything anyway.
I was going to switch to Beta or Dev too but they made it too difficult, can't be bothered with all the passwords etc.

Nope - major builds are only yearly now, so will always be H2. Really the H2 is redundant now

If these hot off the press builds don't start getting better I will eventually do a clean install on my new desktop. What's stopping me from doing it now is that it takes me days to get all of my programs installed and setup the way I want. My old desktop I can do in a few hours. I'm thinking about doing a clean install on my laptop this weekend. I'm giving it to my wife to replace her old laptop.

I don't have nearly as much in the insider build as in regular but it's still a bother to do, I'm not as interested in newest builds any more, it's more like a spare OS now. Used to have Linux too.

I installed it after two attemps (first try i got an uknown error) but on the second try , i finally installed this new build, i don't see really new features , but its more stable than the last build.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, and 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2.

    My SYSTEM THREE is a Dell Latitude 5410, i7-10610U, 32GB RAM, 512GB NVMe ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro (and all my Hyper-V VMs).

I think also , that the Canary Channel will bring early version of Windows 12 in the next months , because dev builds are now the next version of Windows 11 23H2 update which will arrive in October 2023 or something like that, the Microsoft decided to release one solid build for Windows 11 each year , but after Windows 12 , they would likely stop adding new features ( new major builds) .
However i would love to see floating taskbar in Windows 11 too , a more finished UI as well , and live wallpapers.

i think you right..MS deployed early version in windows 12 in canary ver...official news from MS indonesia that MS want finished project core PC before launch windows 12...and the news said 2024...because MS had 2 projects (with different name) to realize core PC was failed...i like windows 12 when core PC success ..at least i can use google/android tv as monitor easily :-) tv with web os..just plug hdmi gpu to hdmi tv then run ..but not android tv/google tv :-):-) and google/android tv more cheap than web os:-) and in the news mention that additional equipment/device/hard ware?required to realize core PC

Have you tried posting in the feedback hub? If MS gets enough feedback maybe they will work on adding drag and drop to the taskbar.

What’s new in Build 25375​

Support for Microsoft Endpoint DLP on Windows on Arm (Arm64) builds​

You can now extend Microsoft Endpoint Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies and actions to endpoints running Windows on Arm (Arm64) which allows you to detect and protect sensitive data in files part of your digital ecosystem. This enables you to introduce policy controls for scenarios such as when an information worker using a Windows endpoint powered by Arm chipset from accessing sensitive files and trying an egress action such as copying to a USB, or copy to clipboard, notepad, etc.

As part of your DLP Policy definition, you can leverage the current conditions and actions that are already available for use and there is no additional setting involved.

Ensure your ARM64 endpoints are onboarded to Microsoft Endpoint DLP by using any of our supported onboarding methods.

What exactly are you trying to drag and drop? You can drag a file, hover over a running app's icon on the taskbar and it will come to the front so you can drop the file into it. This functionality was in Windows 7, 8 and 10, but got left out in the initial release of Windows 11 21H2. It was put back in for 22H2 and has been in all builds since.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, and 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2.
