I'm really sorry Shawn. I'm sure it's like getting a kick in the teeth after all you and the other MVPs have contributed to the development and promotion of MS products. That letter rings hollow and shows just how shallow the company has become that they will no longer give you the recognition you deserve. It's Microsoft's loss, but like most every decision MS makes these days, it's a bigger blow to it's user base who depends so much on the insights MVPs provide.
I don't know how the MVP program even works or what benefits you've had from being one. Neither do I know how not having the MVP program active will affect this forum. But, for what it's worth, I think I speak for everyone when I say "
To hell with Microsoft's titles. " You are the backbone and most valuable player of this forum and the previous Windows forums. No one out there has your reputation and can lay claim to helping literally millions of people.
I know words don't mean much but, had it not been for you, I would never have become enthused about Windows and probably have given up on it a long time ago. Most of the knowledge and interest I've gained began accumulating when I lurked around during the Vista days and it was because of you and your tutorials. You've kept me sane ever since with every OS going forward. I truly can not express my appreciation enough.
