Just heard from an acquaintance in the Netherlands (someone in the general population) that he recently had his 4th covid shot. AFAIK, Biden recently had his 3rd shot. What a comparison!

It depends on a number of factors - my friend in UK has a weakened immune system, and she has had 4 jabs. Most of us have have had 3 jabs. We have yet to roll out second booster jab (after 1st initial 2 jabs - we had a booster jab).

It is likely that the 2nd booster will be rolled out based on age/vulnerabilty. I usually come in the 3rd wave of rollouts.

The decision to do boosters for all persons annually or 6 monthly has yet to be decided. It takes time to analyse how the protection efficiency diminishes. My guess is UK will roll out a 2nd booster jab to general population by Summer, and maybe on in Winter this year but probably annually therafter as part of the normal flu jabs annually.

England has rolled out the 4th jab to all over 75's and those with weak immune systems, I'd expect this will be expanded in the next month or so to more of the population.

I wonder if they are doing it by age descending, I have a weakened immune system caused by treatment (or lack of) during lockdown. I am in my 60's and am waiting for 4th jab. I did get a box of tests so if I get Covid, they will send medication to help. All this illness caused by a few steroids

My household has 2 boxes each containing 5 rapid test kits. We could have more of the free boxes but they expire within 2 years of manufacturing date. Of course, we hope they all expire unused.

Really, what is your point, anyway?

If you want a second 'booster', if it's been beyond four months (for immunocompromised) of the first, all you have to do is take your card to the pharmacy, and ask for it.

Ah, Biden got his 4th shot today, i.e. when I posted before, he was on his 3rd as I said.

My point? A prominent senior citizen did not get his 4th when someone in the general population did get the same last month.

Glad, though, that he caught up, encourages others to get their 4th shot after they become eligible.

LOL, OK, Skippy, you are right on the dates. I missed the Biden date and hence was wondering why he was late, he was not, for the U.S.

I checked my Dutch acquaintance's date, he had his on March 7.

So it appears that the U.S. is late, at least compared to the Netherlands.

Anyway, glad that the U.S. is catching up.

BTW, the eligibility in the U.S. for the 4th shot is 4 months after the 3rd shot, not 6 months (for 50+) Hope they all take it, it protects us all (not just themselves) against this terrible disease (and no, I myself and my family members are not yet eligible)

You obviously saw it corrected. Just curious as to why you wanted to replicate.

I had the J&J for my 1st shot. It's since been said it should not have been sufficient as a "full vaccination". I got the Moderna for my 1st booster. I will be able to schedule my 2nd booster in 2 days through my medical (although I can schedule it now via the County). I will get another Moderna. If they doubt the longevity of the vaccines, I'll get one whenever they suggest

I've had all 3 of the jabs so far, the first 2 and the booster. I'm now waiting to get the 2nd booster, so far all my injections have been the Pfizer, which has seemed to be the favourite around here, but I'll have to wait and see if my 4th jab will be that one.

I think mine will probably be to do with the age group I'm in.

My wife, myself and my daughter may (may = not certain) have had side effects from the any of the 3 shots we have had so far. The suspected side effects were all different, but we hesitate with our 4th shot.

I feel that there has to be a more compelling reason than the official recommendation, but I am not sure what such a compelling reason might be
