I do not like it as well and I am using Chrome at the moment on my NUC and I don't like it either. My browser of Choice is and always will Be Firefox, once I get back on Windows 11, which I will say although not perfect, it is better than Linux on a NUC without sound. I dropped it with the sound plug in and it broke the connection in the NUC.

I had used Google Chrome for many years and when Microsoft based their new Edge on Chrome, I thought I would give it a try. I moved my favorites over from Chrome and never looked back. Edge fits the way I like to work. Judging from the dislike of Edge by many Forum members, it isn't for everyone. I moved Kate over to Edge and she said that she couldn't tell the difference from Chrome. I'm also using Edge on my Android phone. It's nice to always have everything in sync.

sorry to be tardy to the party.

i agree with this person. Edge is sweet, if you like vertical tabs. turn off the sidebar / MS Copilot garbage (and mostly eerything probably)
i go between Edge and Vivaldi. Prefer Vivalidi but i dont complain when everything just works if Edge is set to default. I haven't have Chrome on any system I control. I lie. I'm sure it's on here. i author a blog about stuff like that: featuring a page focused on browsers. Incomplete and always changing. So it goes.

I actually prefer Waterfox. Then I discovered Midori. Something wrong w/ the Oauth2 config and Mozilla browsers. Can't authenticate to a Google acct w/ Firefox, Waterfox, Midori... at least on my setup ( T-Mobile Home 5G thing, a Hotspot ). I hope that's resolved soon.

You can't sign into Edge with a Google account, correct?

Anyway..., the Arc Browser is very pretty, but, it's complicated and clumsy to navigate!
Even the few cool features it has are clumsy to manipulate!

Microsoft Edge and Microsoft OneDrive are both in the Google Play Store. I have both running on my Google Pixel 7 Pro. I'm signed in to my Google account on the Google Pixel 7 Pro. I'm signed in to my Microsoft account with Edge and OneDrive. They both work quite well.

My Dell XPS 16 9640 has an OLED 4K+ 3840 x 2400 screen. Its color accurate with inky true blacks and is absolutely stunning. Your image looks great in Edge on this screen!

That brought back some childhood memories. When I was growing up we had local organist (Philadelphia) that had a Sunday show on a local channel. His name was Larry Ferrari. I have to admit that I actually liked his music.

That's something I wish I could enjoy. Being color blind I can't see the true colors. The term color blind is a misnomer. Except for rare cases, color blind people can see colors. We just don't see them as others see them.

I use Firefox as well as waterfox and slimjet.

I agree, Arc has some ghastly issues that other browsers don't have. Trying to programmatically open a new URL in Arc is one of those things.

However, it also does a few things right that other browsers simply do not. Multiple Profiles, each with its own set of everything (cookies, logins, etc.) just works. Arc allows direct login with Google accounts (on PC), like most other browsers do (and Edge does not). It has additional tab grouping via Folders, which are automatically remembered. A Dockable sidebar with tabs that is resizable. and its performance is on par with Firefox in terms of both overall rss usage as well as individual tab rss usage (including not loading all your saved tabs all at once, which some browsers still seem to want to when loading a tab group).

It's got its quirks, for sure, but I had to put in a bit of work to get Firefox working like this via addons - it's nice to see all this natively supported in Arc.

To be fair, Edge also does all of this kind of stuff natively (well, apart from the profiles - that is a bit more complicated). But Edge not being able to login to (and thus sync) data from my numerous Google accounts makes it relegated to only being used for Microsoft stuff on my PC - like downloading official RTM ISOs and Insiders Preview ISOs, and the occasional log in to my Microsoft account to manage it.

With it continually evolving and adding new features, though, it is staying fresh enough to offer all sorts of new things, and that is the main reason it is my daily driver.

Brave. Block pop up ads automatically. This is really helpful for clean web browsing.

Grabbed a fresh copy of Maxthon Browser..., it's got some great features, and a very unique Split Screen function!

I love Firefox for a number of reasons.

1) On exiting Firefox, the bookmarks can be exported as HTML file. This HTML file is my Home page

2) I can export login data as csv file. I then open it up with LibreOffice calc and save it as HTML file.

3) I can copy the Mozilla folder from PC and save it on my laptop in the same location.
C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla
I would then run Firefox in the laptop as adminstrator.
This would clone by Firefox in the laptop.

4) I export the Bookmarks as HTML file. I then upload it to my website. I can access my bookmarks from any computer.
