Well, to be fair I only notice freezing in Paint when I try to make a screen shot. Sometimes it remembers the picture I took and other times it doesn't. Perhaps it's because I don't use the software approach. I actually press CTRL + PRTSC and Win 11 has convulsions. Maybe it only happens if you run multi-boot but if I had to make a choice I'd pull my Win 11 hands down every time. After all, Win 11 doesn't like this platform. My chip isn't compliant. So that's my fault.

Well, it could be many different things causing the screen freezing. So I'll be the Devil's Advocate here, it could be my old PC, my old video card, or my PCIe m.2 card, etc. but I don't have this problem on Windows 7, go figure.

Have you tinkered by removing the store or anything? Try updating the snipping tool through the store, or by using winget or this command:

Yes. You have to fork out for new hardware. That way you can deal with all the bugs in a more modern and sophisticated fashion. Don't be a Luddite. Get with the program! :lmao:

Thank you Andrew. I appreciate the help. Actually I intend to install 24H2 on this ancient crate at some point so I can better extol the virtues of Windows 11 with the help of a third party program. If it happens there I'll look for a fix. I'm not getting anymore support on 22H2 anyway.

Overall I don't mind Win 11, the little nuisances from 24H2 not withstanding, but those bugs will eventually get fixed.

The thing i don't like about Win 11, or 10 for that matter is it is damn ugly. I much prefer the UI of Win 7 for its clean lines. Much sexier in my opinion. Win 11 and 10 have those blocky square windows with absolutely no style whatsoever. Yuck. (Though 11 is getting a little better)

And don't even get me started on Onedrive. Whoever came up with that idea and the idea of forcing it on us if you aren't careful installing, then making it so damn hard to get rid of needs to be burned at the stake. I just had to go through the procedure of removing it from my new work laptop because IT decided I needed it, even after I gave strict instructions not to install it. "Oh, but it is a useful feature..." I don't want my business documents in the cloud, thank you very much.

Other than that, it's a relatively stable OS. I can't remember the last time I had a BSOD.

I scrapped OneDrive as I do not like it at all..
caused so much problems for me.

I'm with you, I deleted it a couple years ago and never looked back. I get a nag on the settings home page to install it but that's not happening. I'll keep my own backups of everything, thank you.

I just made my own windows image without it for every new pc I build. For people that want it, its a one click install on the home tab. Otherwise, its gone.

I wonder how many Windows 7 users have noticed this. Perhaps when "Support" for Win 11 stops it will also behave? That might explain why my 22H2 seems to be running a bit more stable these days. Silly me.. Here I go burning a 24H2 ISO. I must be a masochist.

I was thinking that if it was a smart tv it would be using Android. I was wrong, It uses a OS I never heard of. It uses an open-source OS called Tizen. Smart TVs and Operating Systems (39 Questions Answered)
