BSOD on Zenbook only when using Zoom

Not sure why that happened. I set it up as you asked. After your message I set it up, restarted, and ran querysettings, which showed that the new settings did not save. Then I ran verifier /reset and entered the new settings and they saved. Am I supposed to /reset every time I create new WDV settings?

Anyway, the settings are right now, as shown here.

I'm not sure I understand your last message. Whenever I set up WDV I restart the computer (as the message indicates when I click "Finish" in the GUI). But, as I said, when you pointed out in message #80 that it was running all tests except "Randomized low resources simulation" I set it up again as you asked, and the settings did not stick unless I ran verifier /reset (and then reboot) to erase the previous settings. I would have thought that running WDV and ticking new boxes would persist on reboot. But that didn't happen.

As for "The current settings displayed the 4 new WDV customized tests" that means we're good, right?

It smells like we're getting closer. Previously during testing it crashed to BSOD instantly. This time before the BSOD the laptop froze - mouse hung, screen froze, then BSOD, just like when it crashes during a Zoom meeting. And the stop code is the same as a Zoom crash: DPC_WATCHODG_VIOLATION.

V2 logs here.

I ran 0x02000000 Code integrity checks and then 0x01000000 VM switch verification for 20-24 hours with no issues. I even ran Zoom while they were testing and everything was fine.

This morning I started 0x00800000 Kernel synchronization delay fuzzing and after a half hour opened Zoom (no meeting, just opened the program) and immediately the screen froze, computer hung, and after half a minute BSOD with DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION.

V2 log here.

For each test I ran WDV /querysettings just to make sure.

I will now run the last test, 0x00200000 NDIS/WIFI verification.

Uninstall DisplayLink entirely, or just dlcdcncm660.sys?

And after I do that, reset WDV or leave it as is?

Using the laptop disconnected from the Plugable Dock it did not crash, but I didn't have the opportunity to use Zoom during that time. I used Zoom three nights ago and it did not crash. However, in my Zoom meeting last night it crashed after about 5 minutes. (Both times I was connected to the dock. Sorry, but the nature of the meetings is such that I really need an external display because of all the windows I need to access during these meetings.)

With the latest crash there was so BSOD, but the system just restarted without warning. Not sure if it's relevant, but although the laptop display itself immediately went black, the image on my external display (via HDMI) froze for several seconds before going black.

Here are the V2 logs.

Although tech support from Plugable had told me several times they have not heard of any instances of DisplayLink causing BSOD, they escalated my case and this was the response:

I escalated this ticket internally, and after further review we believe there could potentially be an issue with the core Windows components related to networking triggering the event.

Given the circumstances in this specific case, we are unable to offer a solution other than to suggest backing up the host computer and performing a ‘clean’ installation of Windows.

We are always hesitant to suggest this due to the time and effort in involved (and fact that there is a chance it may not resolve the issue) however it may be the best way forward in this instance.

Do you recommend the nuclear option?

You're welcome.

Glad to help.

To improve the ability to detect unexpected shutdowns and restarts with or without BSOD after the clean install:

1) Run: Tuneup plus:

2) Monitor using Reliability monitor:
