Summary​

Windows 11, versions 22H2 and 23H2 share a common core operating system with an identical set of system files. Therefore, the new features in Windows 11, version 23H2 are included in the latest monthly quality update for Windows 11, version 22H2 but are in an inactive and dormant state. These new features will remain dormant until they are turned on through the “enablement package,” a small, quick-to-install “master switch” that activates the Windows 11, version 23H2 features.

The enablement package is a great option for installing a scoped feature update like Windows 11, version 23H2 as it enables an update from version 22H2 to version 23H2 with a single restart, reducing update downtime. This enables devices to take advantage of new features now. For version 22H2 devices that receive updates directly from Windows Update, devices automatically get the enablement package by installing the feature update to Windows 11, version 23H2.

Just finished updating to 23H2 on my Beelink MiniPC - Win11 Pro. First two or three times it said "Download error". Then it caught up , downloaded and installed within minutes. Now on 23H2, Build 22632 .2506. Too tired to post any pictures

Incidentally Just finished up a full system backup with MR Rescue Media - the first back up on my eleven Home upgraded Dell Inspiron 3280. It is in another room. Will go and check what is in store in it. This Windows 11 is literally killing me. I will give up on computers soon :-).

No 23H2 on it. Says I am upto date . So I can go have lunch and sleep.

That's a "Microsoft statement" about the update is coming, that's nothing about how this file was obtained, The two are completely different. All due respect 👍🏻
It's worrying to see people are making backups after using this method. When we don't even know it's source, was it obtained in a beta build of windows, or was it obtained in a public release? It's a genuine question!

For anyone having trouble with copilot not showing up you will need to be signed in to you're Microsoft account in order for it to be available...

I already explained that. @Brink is a Microsoft MVP, and has been for 14 years.
He gets "some" things, before we do.

I would imagine that the November 14th patch Tuesday will also have this, since the KB5031455 that came out on Oct 31st, was a "Preview" update.

You don't "have" to install preview updates or use enablement packages.
These links are ONLY here for your benefit.

If you don't want to use them... don't.
But please have at least some faith in the "staff members" of this site that you have joined. :-)

The source is Microsoft, it was obtained by privilege. It was shared with us as a privilege. As an alternative, you can always just sit back and wait for Microsoft to tell you that the exact same update is ready for you to install in Windows Update.

It's not that I don't have faith in staff members or respect for 14 years of work, many people are seeing this post, it's the 1st site to be shown in bing's results when searching the KB file. It's about information and knowing where things have come from, it's about being transparent and giving users more faith not taking away from that.

How to get it​

Users here don’t need faith, we follow because it’s fact. If this was syphoned from something, Brink wouldn’t be offering it to members as a general release, it would state so in the first post that it was either a beta, or an insider etc. It states neither. So you can take it as gospil that this is the same file that will be injected into your system during a Windows Update.

People will respond, any ignorance of this forum won’t change that.

I am running Windows 11 version 23H2 Build 22631.2506 provided by Windows Update yesterday.

It has a preview of CoPilot. I haven't had time to examine it closely yet, but I am confident it came directly from Microsoft.

Noticed random blinking issues - while using an nVidia Driver from September and the Intel Driver form May (it's the last release for this GPU UHD 630 - thus, even the latest Windows seems to be tested to work with this release). Fortunately, updating to latest nVidia Driver (released just yesterday) - while also re-installing the intel Driver - fixed that issue.

Did you guys have this issue?
PS: i did change the bios version today!
