If/when you do an update remember to test that it will boot correctly from Ventoy. I did this test recently and found that it would not load... resolved by updating Ventoy.Only using the boot-media ( on Ventoy) of Macrium , will only update if a new Macrium has sicnificant boot-media update............using the boot-media of the 8.1.7401 , works exellent , while latest version has no updates for the boot-media............![]()
Might want to update Rescue environment (USB) as it also contains EFI.With regard to the Black Lotus problem, if I do nothing and let MS do the fixing ...
... is there anything extra or anything different a Macrium user like me should do?
I myself did not notice anything different and I did not see any mention of Black Lotus in the Macrium updates so far, but I want to make sure I did not overlook something.
Just out of curiousty, did you actually run the commands that apply the revocations or was this testing done without that? On the one machine that I tried it on so far any media built with a build of Windows prior to 1702 would not boot IF secure boot is enabled AND the commands to apply the revocations were run.I made 2 Rescue USBs, one made before the hoopla started, the other one made after the hoopla started (made after the May 9 WU even) they both boot.
Hope that Macrium is nimble enough to keep up with whatever MS is doing.

I certainly hope I'm not EOL yet....(Compliments of Bree, a stable, trusted, and not-near-end-of-life member here)
get Reflect Free direct from Macrium's download server is with theirhttps://updates.macrium.com/reflect/v8/ReflectDLHF.exe'[/URL]
Hey Bree, I was shocked. It downloads 8.1.7540
You are looking at the version number of the Download Agent ReflectDLHF.exe. That is indeed v8.1.7540. But that's not the version it will download.Hey Bree, I was shocked. It downloads 8.1.7540
There's a game you can play with the download agent, just rename it and you can change what it will download.
Try renaming ReflectDLHF.exe before running it. What it offers as download options is entirely dependent on the name of the .exe file. Almost any name will offer the choice of Home or Free.....

...but rename it as ReflectFull.exe and it offers every available version except Free.

With the name ReflectDLHF.exe it will only offer to download Free (DownLoad Home Free).
With the name ReflectDLHT.exe it will only offer to download Home, which without a key will install as the Trial version.
(DownLoad Home Trial)
Only Free will download v8.0, all the other versions will be v8.1.
Yes you can. That is interesting. I have never heard of an installer that changes its functionality based on name of installer.
Wouldn't it be great if you could do this with Insider versions of Windows lol.
