Moral’s of the story? nVidia is trying to exit out the back door. AND Don’t buy an RTX 50, especially at a cost of US$3,300

Thanks for the video

all rtx 50 cards are 3300? Thats a bid mad, seems like some pretty specific pricing for a bunch of different models, Coulda sworn they were all different prices. If its the best gpu on planet earth that money can buy that you're referring to that is also hiked by the fact you cant actually buy one? That makes sense, seen people paying 2.5k for 2080tis when they came out. The world is humped across the board especially financially, so you didn't ever think new gpu's were actually gonna get cheaper did you?

Everything is more expensive, and will continue to get that way, the quicker the world accepts it instead of shouting into an empty room where no one is listening the easier it gets to accept that you'' be shafted at every turn financially especially.

Side note, I agree they are way to expensive but everything is, i paid 300 quid for my 10700k, my new amd cpu is gonna be 510, Like come on its across the board.

Installed it on my dual monitor rig, which had issues with the previous release. To my relief, this one seems to work properly. Lately, it's been something of a crap shoot: sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Go figure!

I did a DDU uninstall of nvidia drivers a few days ago and reinstalled 572.47 with custom with everything including clean install checked and I noticed in Device Manager in Other Devices, there is a missing driver called nvvhci. I did a install of 572.60 today with custom with everything including clean install checked but the other devices with the missing driver called nvvhci is still there. Anyone here who completely removed everything still have a nvvhci driver in their system?

@Almighty: I don't have the "Other Devices" category in Dev Mgr, so I'm pleased to say I don't suffer from a missing nvvchi driver, either. Goes off to look for same in the file system ... nope, nothing there, either. I'm running a GeForce RTX 3070 Ti. Maybe that's why?

It shouldn't be in the Other Devices area, I meant do you have it somewhere else in Device Manager as someone said it's installed with GeForce Experience except GeForce Experience no longer exists in the newer drivers as that has been replaced with nVidia app.

I think there's a NirSoft tool that lets you search across all devmgr items at once. I need to look into that. I have no idea where it might pop up.
Thanks!

No tool is needed. It would be under System Devices if it was installed.

Installing latest driver 572.60 on Canary Build 27788 is now even worse than the previous driver.
It gets stuck with a black screen and have to power off/on to get out of that stuck condition.
With previous drivers I could workaround the problem installing while connected with RDC, then sign off and sign on locally again.
Now the same procedure ends up with a stuck black screen again and the only way out is power off and back on.
NVIDIA official reply was that they don't do any testing with Windows insider Builds, MS should check this out and fix the problem.
The same drivers install fine with all the 24H2 Builds; the problem is only with latest Canary Builds. 🤬🤷‍♂️

Edit:
I gave it a second try with the RDC work around and it behaved as expected, I don't know why it behaved differently on 1st try. 😵‍💫🤷‍♂️

Hmmm, wonder if that's why I'm having trouble downloading the studio version of this driver on my Beta build? It's been hung at 58% download forever now.

Which Beta are you on? The 23H2 or 24H2 as all the drivers had installed fine with both 22635 up to 22635.4870 which is 23H2 as that was the last I used before 24H2 Beta which is the 26120.3073, 26120.3281 and 26120.3291. Hopefully this time, I typed the version #'s correctly as @fg2001gf11F will probably correct me if I typed the numbers in the wrong order. Are you downloading from GeForce Experience, nVidia app or using the web browser with the link in the first post of this thread?

I'm on Beta 26120.3291 now but after closing and restarting the NVIDIA app it completed the download and installed with no further problem so I'm good to go now.

The problem installing NVIDIA drivers is only with latest Canary builds.
The same drivers install just fine on any other 23H2 or 24H2 Builds. MS changes in Canary Builds are causing the different behavior.
The problem started with Canary 27783 and still the same issues with 27788. 😝🤬
When I reported it to NVIDIA support, they replied that they don't do any testing with Windows insider Builds. They only test with RTM public builds.
I think MS should test these in Canary and get a fix for the problem they created.
MS has also a similar issue with black screen when they disconnect from RDC, and that is also only with Canary. 😵‍💫🤷‍♂️

Well lets hope that current Canary build coding doesn't keep getting passed down the insider chain then or worse to RTM.
