I notice on my systems, that the speed of the MR 8.1 backups varies greatly by the speed of the SSD on which the OS is based.
In both cases, Win 10 and Win 11, I am writing to a Gen 4 NVMe drive.
But in one case, I am writing from a Gen 3 NVMe drive and can get at best 5.1 Gb/s.
In the other case, I am writing from a 2.5" SSD, and can get only half of that speed.
So my guess with MR x, is that in order to get the advertised 2X speed, you have to be using the fastest hardware in both the OS source drive and the target backup drive -- probably Gen 4 or Gen 5 NVMe drives.
