Microsoft operates planned obsolescence for Windows 11

Keep in mind that if you don't want to update, etc., then avoid going online if your machine contains important information for you, and avoid inserting any external drive that belongs to others.

I've been using Rufus, almost as long as it's been available. It will indeed, remove conditions and stipulations from an MS ISO, so that the resultant Flash Drive can install Windows 11/Pro/64 on almost any PC, as long as it has a 64 bit capable CPU.

Using Rufus, to clean up an ISO, I'm now running Windows 11, 24H2 here on my 12 year old Gigabyte Mobo and AMD FX 6350 cpu.
This 12 yr old CPU, is barely old enough to contain the necessary SSE4.2 Instruction set, required to run 24H2.
All previous versions of Win-11 are just past history now.

And, just to keep the lights on, and everything running smoothly, after the install, Auto Updates were turned OFF. (My Choice)

24H2, has got to be the fastest version of Windows I've ever installed, and I've installed most of them.

US Citizens, Happy 4th!

Not only a 64-bit processor, it must have a 64-bit BIOS (which my ASUS !00TA lacks).

I'm using 11 24h2 IoT Enterprise in which I removed Defender and removed all CPU mitigations on an Ivy Bridge from 2013 and it's working perfectly, PC flying much faster than using Win10
I even activated the classic theme and it looked like Win98
This Windows is supported at least until 2036

Create a new folder on your desktop. Rename it as System.{BB06C0E4-D293-4f75-8A90-CB05B6477EEE} then open it.

fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, and 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2.
