I received the RCA cables, but I have a few questions for anyone looking in on this thread. First of all, I want to make sure that I have it plugged into the correct audio jack, which is the headphone jack in the front of my computer instead of the line-in jack as can be seen in the picture below. And my second question is: Should the "Line in" or the "Headphones" be highlighted in blue in the picture of the little dialog box that appeared over my computer screen as shown in the second picture?

The manual says that the lower jack is line-out.

You somewhat blurry picture seems to match that.

The headphone jack may work, but it's listed as a "universal" port. I'm not certain about its functions, but I expect it'd take a headset (headphones plus a microphone), and can also function as a line-in port.

Headphone or external speakers? Is that as in one or the other or both would work? Because after I hit okay, I don't know how to bring this dialog box back up. Although, it looks like it's called MaxAudioPro Jack - 6. maxaudiopro.jack.webp.

This is what my System > Sound looks like in Settings where currently, I only have two options to play music. But I want to make sure that I choose the correct option so that it will show up in Sound > System because I may have chosen the incorrect option before with the other setup/adapters that I had. sound.system.webp

I got tired of waiting and chose external speakers, however, it's still not showing up as one of the options in my System > Sound.system.sound.2.webp

Use the line-out port. That's a single-function output.
And I got this new dialog box on my screen, which I will choose External Speakers. Hope this works. dialog.box.webp

"External speakers" sounds like it may be the wrong voltage range. The AVR is expecting a line-level input.

But it may work, anyway.

Nope. Didn't work. However, on the second dialog box, it didn't have the line-level input option and I don't know how to bring back up the first dialog box.

On my phone, I just Google how to connect a stereo receiver to either a Dell Optiplex 5060 or 7060 and I came up with the same answers that are in this thread. Therefore, I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.

If you look in my post #69, you will see that I no longer have the headphone option.

You should be good using either output from the PC. You're not going to break anything. Try each and test it out to see which one works best.
You may have to do the Bluetooth option if all else fails.
