Playing Computer Music Files Through Stereo Receiver


The only reason I can think of, where the combo output, (headset/mic), might not work is:
most combo ports will accept a 3 zone male, and cancel out the mic contact...

whereas some require a 4 zone, (left, right, ground, mic), male to function properly...
(so, no 4 zone to RCA)

The 4 zone is normally for mobile devices.

If you are using the headphone output, you should select the Realtek Audio option

You may have to consider output exclusivity...,
For example:
If you use foobar2000, you need to choose the output device, or you won't hear anything!

Just to confirm :
What application are you using to play your music on the PC? Is It up and running, along with the amplifier? No sound / audio out and your amplifier will have no signal to output. Make sure your audio output level is up, if you're doing the headphones option.

I tried Bluetooth and Bluetooth is HEOS on my computer, and I recalled that it requires a subscription to use it.

Realtek Audio option is the built-in speakers in the computer itself. And the Audiogenie is a DAC that I use with my add-on computer speakers, which makes them sound better.

If you are using a DAC, then you need to connect the RCA cable to the headphone output of the DAC and not on the computer.

The DAC doesn't have a headphone output. It has right/left RCA outputs to my computer speakers along with another single square type of output.

there should be a headphone output in front of the DAC where the volume knob is.
