Solved QTTabBar

Hey QTTab'ers, QTTabBar does support .webp on mouse hover preview...

You just have to add it in Settings...

... Also .jxl...

I really love the QTTabBar mouse hover preview (used it only for images). I have searched a lot to find something similar with no success. Before that I used SageThumbs, which worked OK with windows 10 but not updated for 11. I wonder if there is any way to extract and use the mouse hover preview option only and use it without installing QTTabBar (this should be probably a dll that needs to be registerd and set to load with windows) or if there is something similar to use on windows 11!?

Best I can suggest is to run the standalone version of QTTabBar, version 1038, if you can still find it!

QuickLook is another but it's a bit of a pain as selection of items is glitchy and you have to use the Spacebar to view the items...

Thanks a lot for your reply Edwin,
I was able to find few links for QTTabBar 1038, but unfortunately no standalone version!
I finally installed QuickLook which is OK, but not as good and practical as QTTabBar. I
don't mind pressing space to preview the file, but I also need to select the file (no mouse hover)
At this point (two click actions) , it's maybe easier to just open the file itself :)

I wonder if it's not possible to install QTTabbar and disable ALL it's functions, except the preview!?
I will try to install it on VMware and see what I can do with it.

I constantly use it for quick reference on text files and images...

haha, stop showing it off as it makes me want it even more and I can't have it 🫣
This is a VERY useful feature that someone skilled has to make as a standalone program for windows.

Why not??? 🤷‍♂️

Heck, you can even scroll on mouse hover, with the aid of the numerical keypad...

Thought you might find this useful, although, I don't know if it works on all versions!

Has anyone else been having issues after the latest major Windows 11 update a few days back?
After that update File explorer won't even open and I'm assuming Qttabbar has finally been broken after all these years of working near flawlessly :(
I don't want to uninstall Qttabbar just in case it's something else.

Is the QuizoApps version or the version the other guy made that forked it?
It appears I have both installed but I've been using the forked version 1.50.0 beta 2, it's been working flawlessly up till now

With the aid of StartAllBack, QTTabBar and a handful of minor tweaks, everything is functioning as it should!

Hey there,

Since some updates of Win11 something strange happens with the Top Bar of the Explorer. It loads white like if the Dark mode of Windows gets ignored. One can fix it with going to Windows Color setting and choose one color or toggle transparency. But unfortunately on every Explorer open it happens again. Do you guys happen to know, what is happening here? I'm using QTTabBar ver 2048 the latest beta.

Just implemented another great use for QTTabBar Set Text Color:

Pretty much every week, I have to crop sheet music pdf's to fit a livestream template placeholder...,
... rather than do them all at once, I'll crop individual ones as they are requested, then mark them done with Set Text Color, in various styles.

I'm having a bit of a weird one.

I was running W11 22H2 x64 which had Qttabbar (ver 2048 beta) running fine. Then MS pushed various updates this past week, and Windows Explorer would start crashing once updates are installed.

I did use Vivetool to disable tabs to install Qttabbar, but once the recent updates get pushed, Windows Explorer crashes completely and Qttabbar doesn't open.

I've now completely removed Qttabbar, reinstated Explorer's tabs, and then installed 23H2 via ISO download and am on that version now. But I'm unable to disable tabs without getting the Explorer crash once tabs are disabled using Vivetool.

Is there a way to use Qttabbar on the current version of W11 (23H2) that I'm running? Or is it a lost cause?

In my experience, you gotta load an alternative Explorer shell, first.
I accomplish that with StartAllBack W7 mode, then I run QT version 1038, no problems.
