I used Open Shell a few years back on 10. I notice Windhawk is 10MB and StartAllBack is 2MB, so I doubt I'll move from S.A.B., but thought I should ask - what is the advantage to Windhawk? Thanks!

I think my only mods to win11 24H2 are startallback, remove Edge, remove Copilot, swap Win Defender to BitDefender AV free. Trying to use it OTB (out of the box) as much as possible to try to save myself future grief! :)

Thanks. I don't need them at the moment but I will keep that in mind. I did notice vertical left or right (I assume taskbar) which reminded me of an MX build I had at one point - all custom, hell to re-create, but fun at the time! Toys!!!

Nah, the reason for the sarcasm is if MS did the Start Menu right in the first place, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Are you referring to Power Start Menu? If so, that Store app is was not from Microsoft.

I changed the "is" to "was" because its Store page is completely gone.

I don't think Microsoft looks very closely at what's put on their store. As long it follows the packaging rules and passes the antimalware checks, it's good to go. 😉

A "Recent Files" section has been included in previous versions of Windows start menus for a very long time.

I've used one of "'memstechtips" (github) apps after installing win10, and since install everything I needed to make everything look like win7 again. In my case "WIMUtil" did the job. Now he's got a new one: Winhance. I'm gonna give it a try later but everything works as I want for now. (Why break things when they work? Well, since I'm no engineer, I'm gonna leave things alone)
