Why the rush? 23H2 works perfectly well. Besides all of us with unsupported computers must do a full system backup or clone our SSD before upgrading, just in case something goes wrong. In my PC (2nd system specs) this requires enough free time for the whole upgrade including about an hour to do the clone, so I am not in a hurry doing it.

Everyone on forums and YouTube are getting over-excited and jumping on any rumour, no matter how unsubstantiated. They want to believe it will be early.

Usually MS don't do a major release on a Patch Tuesday. My money is on something later in the month, I'd expect the 21st or later.

Some of us however can't be bothered to wait, 24H2 has been available for some time now in the Insider Release Preview Channel. You can install it without joining Insiders and it will get all the same cumulative updates that the 24H2 Snapdragon X Copilot+ PCs already do. I already have 24H2 running on several PCs. One it gets it's official amd64 release mine will just continue getting the CUs like any other 24H2 PC.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, and 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2.

    My SYSTEM THREE is a Dell Latitude 5410, i7-10610U, 32GB RAM, 512GB NVMe ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro (and all my Hyper-V VMs).

    My SYSTEM FOUR is a 2-in-1 convertible Lenovo Yoga 11e 20DA, Celeron N2930, 8GB RAM, 256GB ssd. Unsupported device: currently running Win10 Pro, plus Win11 Pro RTM and Insider Dev, Beta, and RP 24H2 as native boot vhdx.

24H2 was officially released publicly for Copilot+ PCs on 18th June. Although not publicly released for amd64 yet, the RP build gets all the same public updates as the Copilot+ build. Seems to be completely stable so far.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, and 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2.

    My SYSTEM THREE is a Dell Latitude 5410, i7-10610U, 32GB RAM, 512GB NVMe ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro (and all my Hyper-V VMs).

Windows Latest spotted a Windows 11 24H2 file labelled “X23-81971_26100.1742.240906-0331.ge_release_svc_refresh_CLIENT_CONSUMER_x64FRE_en-us.iso”. This appears to be an official Windows 11 24H2 release.

I've been running it on my unsupported system and have had no issues. I've even installed 24H2 a few times before that build, from uupdump, no issues. The above ISO is direct from microsoft.com

there was also "X23-81951_26100.1742.240906-0331.ge_release_svc_refresh_CLIENT_ENTERPRISES_OEM_x64FRE_en-us.iso", which appears to be a Win11 24H2 Iot Enterprise LTSC 2024 iso image - also direct from Microsoft

I tried Counter-Strike 2 Benchmark Map in Windows 11 in KVM Virtual Machine in Linux (GPU Passthrough). Performance so bad. Half FPS then in Windows 11 (not Virtual Machine). With Looking Glass even worse.

I will never again play games in Virtual Machine even with GPU Passthrough. I don't even like KVM Interface. Oracle VirtualBox and VMware Workstation Pro are way better.

Windows 11 Native Install is the best for gaming.

I don't play Multiplayer games anymore. I use Counter-Strike 2 only for Benchmark.

FPS in Counter-Strike 2 are the same 23H2 vs. 24H2 (Windows 11 Native).

Upgrade to 24H2 Stable from 26100.1882 possible with Windows Update or i will loose all installed applications if i will Upgrade using Windows 11 24H2 ISO Stable?

If you want maximum performance and compatibility always install natively. Virtual machines are just for testing and experimenting with new versions. Not for everyday use and certainly not for gaming or other demanding tasks. This is because even with GPU passthrough the CPU is supervising every single action reducing performance. The game doesn't talk directly to the GPU.
