Windows 11 upgrade like fresh install

Hello everybody!
I would like to upgrade to Win11. But i am used to fresh install OS, like with bootable usb, start from BIOS, and the classic fresh install procedure.
But, i want to keep my Windows 10 pro key.
I mean, now i could update to Win11, as Windows Update say i can do it.
But i do not want to "update". I would like a fresh Win11 install, keeping my legit Win10 key.
Afterall the update process would not require a new Win11 key. Right?
So is this possible? How? Thanks!

Wait maybe i got an idea... What if i update to Win11, and then i follow the procedure for clean install?

Then i will have an activated Win11 Pro clean install?

I want to clean install Win11pro. Will my current Win10pro product key be ok so i will have an activated Win11pro?

That is it now your question clear.

If you activated a free upgrade to Windows 11 from Windows 10, you have a digital license for your device. This means you can reinstall the same edition of Windows 11 that your device has a digital license for without entering a product key. During reinstallation, if you’re asked to enter a product key, you can skip this step. Windows 11 will automatically activate online after the installation is complete.

If you made a significant hardware change to your device (such as replacing the motherboard), Windows 11 might no longer be activated.

So, i upgrade to win 11 via windows update. And then perform a clean install with the Windows 11 Installation Media.

You can perform clean installation of Windows 11 when online, Windows 11 will automatically activate using Microsoft server.

Also, we are all in this forum volunteers there is no Bot this is not Discord.

Welcome to Eleven Forum.

Your PC should say that 'Windows is activated with a digital licence' (or a digital licence linked to your Microsoft account).
For Windows 10 look at Settings > Update & Security > Activation.

This digital licence is linked to the unique hardware ID of the PC and is stored on Microsoft's activation servers. This licence is valid for both Windows 10 and Windows 11.

You don't need a key for a clean install of Windows 11. Skip entering one if asked, Windows will activate from the existing digital licence as soon as it can contact the activation servers.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, and 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2.

The deadline for upgrading from 10 to 11 has passed but Microsoft is not enforcing it. Don't delay too long as they may change their minds.

Correction: the deadline has always been very vague....

@tonaz You have not listed your system specs. I do not believe anyone who has answered you has asked a pertinent question. Is your computer 100% compatible with Windows 11? If it is NOT, you will have to use a workaround to do both an upgrade or a clean install.

Yes, Win 10 keys and Win 11 keys are the same.
