Saturday morning abrupt restart consistent with this issue we have discussed before.
Soon after, I called my PC guy to book a slot in afternoon to bring my machine and install new SMPS.

all day yesterday was just making changes suggested by people and testing if "sleep to wake" works. It didn't and I had to power down/restart uncleanly.

Also, my sincere thanks. I appreciate it. This is methodical traversal of what's looking odd.

There was no actual BSOD. I would have seen it and remember it. There's no false pride is hiding such critical info.
if this is a "bsod level" or "bsod like critical" I am unable to account for it.

Well there is this one thing. when I "restarted the machine via OS button" after making changes, I got an "explorer.exe exception error and some hexadecimal address". It was too fast and PC rebooted so no time to take a photo of screenshot. If this is related to that?

Happy to share other info or details for you if you need more info to continue the debugging.

thanks,
surio

If you can run the script from the earlier antspants post #12 RAR then post a share link for :

gather additional dump files

And when available post event viewer share links:

Ran all the scripts from posts number 9 and 12. Also collected event viewer logs also.

See attached files.

If I missed anything, apologies. Please let me know and I will share those also.

1) How often do you use xbox?
I had to record a game footage 2 -3 weeks ago to show something about a mod's behaviour in a forum. Other than that, I haadn't used it in past. I haven't used it since then.

uninstall and reinstall: fxsound and realtek

I will do all this later because I have to find the installer for that realtek thing in first place.
EDIT: fxsound was installed from microsoft store in first place. now installed as standalone
realtek thing was part of gigabyte's default installation of Dragon software. Uninstalled dragon now.

Create a new restore point
ok. Once I complete above.

I never get any bluescreens.... and I can't understand what caused those.

Hi.

My PC behaves strangely, too, regarding sleep. If my PC goes into sleep by itself, I can wake it up using the keyboard and mouse. If I intensionally make my PC sleep using the keyboard sleep key, my keyboard is not able to wake the PC up. No key works. But my mouse can wake the PC up in all instances. I can also get out of sleep mode using the power button on the PC case.

I checked every possible setting in Windows 11 (current build no: 26100.2448) but I was not able to correct the misbehavior of Windows sleep mode.

My keyboard is Microsoft All-in-One keyboard. It has got a touchpad on it. My mouse is HP wireless (S100 PLUS).

This is for information only.

P.S. My PC is not fully compatible with Windows 11.

So, this asked me to create restore point before fiddling with anything else, so there's a restore point also now.

Hi, I set this up very late on Sunday because nothing was working to bring PC from sleep to wake (see my discussions with glasskutter).

Until Saturday afternoon, this caused no problems to go to sleep. In spite of all "update your driver to latest" advice, my default audio drivers are too quiet and I can't make out jack on videos unless I am amping the volume past 50-60%! I have used this for month w/o issues of going to sleep or waking up afterwards.
Realtek High Definition Audio
no idea what to do at this point.
