Solved "Automatically create daily restore point" failing

I've been using this:
for years successfully, and it's still working perfectly on my backup machine, but on my main machine, Task Scheduler reports that it has run successfully for that day, but no new restore point is in the list of restore points. Running the task "on demand" works, and a new point is added to the list, but then the next day and the day after that, I check and there's no new restore point.

I have used restore points successfully many times, and the only failures have resulted from my forgetting to stop Malwarebytes from running when I launch System Restore. I image daily with MR, but, as Ghot always says, You can never have too much backup!

Any suggestions for kick-starting my scheduled task welcome.

Hello Dan,

Double check to make sure the SystemRestorePointCreationFrequency DWORD value is still set to 0 in Registry Editor below for this task to work properly. An update may have reset it.

Well, I'll be gobsmacked! I thought I had that .reg file in my battery of always-use tweaks, but I must not have used it the other day when I did a repair in-place. Thank you, sir.

No, but it's the same in Windows 11.

I checked the other machine just now, and sure enough, that reg value was set to 0 there, so that explains the difference in the RP behaviors of the two machines completely. Thanks again. Always in your debt, good sir.
