Between Mailbird and Thunderbird, I might just give up on eMClient!!!

eMclient works fine for people whi have just one basic account.

I have several (also some business stuff) and certainly different logins and passwords on inbound and outbound mail servers.

Thunderbird has improved dramatically over the years -- but you still have to twiddle around to get it into "Manual" set up mode if you need specific non standard server mode setup.

I dislike the trend now for "Unified Mail boxes" -- I can't see any advantage in those for people who have particularly business email originating from a variety of sources.

Really glad people managed to keep thunderbird alive.

Couldn't agree more. I'm really pleased with how much better and how much more reliable Thunderbird is than the native Windows Mail and Calendar app.

Another observation: The current Thunderbird is really easy to customize in various ways by adding .css files to a created chrome folder in the profile folder.

I've got nice lines between my messages in the lists now, my scrollbar is wider, and I have only three address books in the list of address books, since I got rid of All Address Books, a completely unnecessary list, IMO.

Agree to a point - but fiddling around with .css files is well beyond the remit of typical domestic users. !!!

Still apart from all the niggles -- Thunderbird is brilliant. I only tend to use OUTLOOK since I have the Office suite which I rely on because of EXCEL -- still by far the best spreadsheet program in the universe.

I have had hideous experiences of Lotus 1-2-3 and the like. EXCEL is just brilliant for power users and with the latest improvements in pivot tables etc what's not to like --although I doubt if 99% of typical EXCEL users even know what a pivot table is and how to use it.

Worth buying Ms Office just to get EXCEL -- no other spreadsheet system comes anywhere near close - especially for access to data queries on the web, importing stuff from all sorts of MySQL / MariaDB databases, cloud AZURE servers etc etc. No other office clone comes within light years of Ms Office if you are a power EXCEL user.

However for people looking for a FREE email client that just works (also on Linux too) and has no irksome restrictions on usage, number / type of accounts etc -- even if you might need a doctorate in Computer Science to set it up properly -- well worth it -- 100% congrats to those developers in their spare time working on it.

Thunderbird loads and works fine in WIn-11, but still takes forever in Win-10. Not sure why.

The designer was trying to match the design of the Firefox icon as closely as possible. The Firefox icon doesn't even have eyes, though, much less determined, all-business eyes. Okay, mean-looking.

I don't like it, either, but they spent good money to get it created, so I'm afraid we'll have live with it for some time.

Oh, yeah. Me, three! I'm having a ball seeing what I can get it to do. Amazing how much configuration is possible.
My only complaint is that some of the headers take up way too much vertical space. But they'll get that right in the near future.

Windows new mail notification is not opening Thunderbird when I click on it, does anyone know how to fix this?
when i click it it does not open the email application.

I've found the Notification thing inoperative, too. I've turned to using the app icon in the taskbar with badges. That works perfectly. NOTE: This is a later edit. Use Unread messages; not New messages. It works MUCH better.

It does work for me, I'm currently on Beta version 116.0b4.
