I wasn't looking in this thread until I after I fixed mine today. Was only looking at the office 365 threads. Then I looked for any reported issues on this in the apps topic to see if I could help.

Wish I would have seen it, it would have saved me a lot of time :tears:

MSFT probably fixed this prolonging Error Code: 30088-27 with the internal dev channel beta build 16.0.18007.20000.
For the first time in (almost) last two months, I am not getting that Error Code: 30088-27 while checking for update, even after rebooting

There's a new retail channel update released today v17830.20166
Anyone tried this build to check whether the Error Code: 30088-27 has been resolved in this new version, or not?

Problem still not fixed! My 2 Office 365 PCs are OK (always have been) but wife's Office 2021 still has the issue. An online repair hence is still needed to get the update.

I use a local account unless I have a need to review or make changes to my microsoft.com account. Don't know if anyone has been able to review my comments in this post. But I also had the network update error show up sometime in June. I tried the suggestions listed in this thread and a few others. None worked. My final effort was to log into my microsoft.com account and try just a normal update while logged in last week. It worked. I have only been using my regular local account since and the network update error has not appeared since. What I would like to know is why that worked when none of the previous suggestions worked. Any suggestions as to "the why"?
Updated to v17830.20166 successfully a minute ago.

You might want to fix and upload those screenshots again. They both show your Microsoft account username.

You could have used Paint to remove to account information. After that you could have edited the post and replaced the original screenshot.
The screenshot below show my for User Information and One Drive have been removed.

Thanks. Yes, I am familiar with graphic editing techniques. I just did not notice my username was visible before I posted the pics.

To answer my own Q, it's still not resolved in the retail channel latest v17830.20166

However, as I reported earlier here, this issue is solved in the dev beta channel update,
today in that name branch, I updated from 16.0.18007.20000 to 16.0.18011.20000
Then from 16.0.18011.20000 to 16.0.18012.20000

Installed the preview ; 16.0.17928.20066 with the cmd-option.
Checked for updates , went OK (!!) ( inside Outlook ) , no error !
Installed the latest version again , checking for updates is OK now ( " latest version is installed " )

Finally this Office-error is gone..............

Suddenly able to download Office 2021 LTSC updates. I made no changes other than to run CCCleaner.

Yes , seems to be fixed ( pffffffff !)..........

Previously, OfficeC2Rclient.exe used the WinInet proxy settings (Internet Settings) to connect to Microsoft's cloud services.
Following the June update, OfficeC2Rclient.exe now utilizes the WinHTTP proxy (configured via NetSH) for communication.

The reader was able to configure the WinHTTP proxy via NetSH for his enterprise environment. But this morning (August 17, 2024, CET) I received feedback from two German blog readers, telling me, that the Office C2R Update issue has been solved "mysteriously". So I guess, Microsoft has changed something server-side to fix that issue.

Finally good news !!

What's the office build version you used when you received the updates?
Could you specify that? I wanna give it a try then to check whether it's been fixed or not?

Its version 2407 build 17830.20166 Office Pro Plus 2021 ( latest version , just checked )..........

Updated from version 2407 (Build 17830.20138) , previous version .
