Password Managers

I have my LastPass extension set to automatically use biometrics. I use Windows Hello face recognition. I never have to enter my login information.
Didn't work like that on mine. Anyway, I've already dumped LastPass for good for multiple reasons.

I used LastPass for a long time until last week when I changed to Dashlane. I grew tired of LastPass forcing me to enter my login information and master password every time I wanted to use it via my browser. This has been a very common criticism in their forums of late with unhappy users.

I much prefer Dashlane and will stick with that.
I use lastpass, and it only asks for my login details occasionally.

I keep mine in .txt files on several usb thumb drives...
That's not very safe. If you'd ever loose one of those thumbdrives, your passwords are accessible for everybody that would find that thumbdrive!
And maybe you would not even notice the loss of one thumbdrive, when you have several.

...a gun safe
Those things are not at all common practice in the Netherlands.

So it would not have come in my mind that you would ever use that for protecting your data!

That's all I'd like to say about it.
Please don't expect any more comments, the subject 'gun' is rather delicate for me (never had or used one and never will).

I just memorize all the passwords except for the places that requires some randomly generated password like station-drivers, then I put it in bitwarden and copy and paste when needed.

I just memorize all the passwords except for the places that requires some randomly generated password like station-drivers, then I put it in bitwarden and copy and paste when needed.
My wife always gives me grief when she needs a password for something because my passwords are all randomly generated and 25 ish characters long. She's like, how do you remember this crap and I'm like, "i don't, it's all in a password manager, thats the point".

I am using Excel to save the passwords. and it works fine. However, you should put a strong password to protect the excel worksheet.

You have to copy and paste?!!! LastPass and Roboform automatically fill in forms and also automatically save new usernames and passwords.
So does Bitwarden actually.

It automatically shows a dropdown menu near the username and password fields and then fills in the info should you click on on one of the displayed items.

And yes it does prompt the user to save new login information and form filling is possible too.

My journey with PMs: Roboform (several years), Lastpass, Enpass, Sticky Password, KeepassXC, Keeper, Bitwarden (premium since 2017), 1Password and Dashlane. I use the last 3 PMs regularly but most frequently used is Bitwarden. I'd rate 1Password as the slickest and arguably the most secure solution because of that randomly generated 128 character key that can be regenerated when required.

No idea if it actually automatically fills in the forms or not but I just copy and paste because it's a option. Never tried to see if it automatically fills it in or not.
