Now you gotta show us the numbers

What are the out-of-the-box performance specs? (Coz you just know every personal build is different.) Take your time though. Once you have it all together and running smoothly, take a screen shot and keep it in your archives where you can find it. That way you can do a "before and after" take on your stats. In a years time or so, once it's all broke in (yes, there really is such a thing ye doubters out there reading this) do a mild OC and see what you get. I have a good feeling about this build of yours. I like that you chose the Noctua NHD-15 and I'm curious about the kind of temps you're getting with that. I had to give mine to the wife for her Haswell hot chip and now she idles at a nice, balmy 32°C. She really has to work her system to get it over 40°. Sadly, my high profile Corsair Platinum Dominator RAM wouldn't provide enough clearance for the NHD-15 to fit right with both banks of RAM on the left and right of the CPU. I had to special order some crazy industrial version made for Xeon chips that I can't remember the name of. It's okay, it's a Noctua, but it isn't nearly an NHD-15. Today, this is no longer a problem with system boards but I'm thinking partly that it has to do with ASUS's own design on the X99.
