Solved QTTabBar

In my experience, you gotta load an alternative Explorer shell, first.
I accomplish that with StartAllBack W7 mode, then I run QT version 1038, no problems.
@Edwin - Thanks for the response. Would running the method you recommend still require the Vivetool steps to disable Explorer tabs? Or is that no longer a requirement via your method? Also, is StartAllBlack a free or paid application?

Your preferences might be different, but I like to run SAB in W7 mode, looks cleanest...,
QTTabBar is version 1038, most versatile, but you probably gotta search the Way Back Machine to find it!
(This is on a fresh upgrade from W10 to W11)

Downloaded SAB and am ready to install that. But the version of Qttabbar (v1038) isn't coming up in any results even on Way Back Machine. There's v1043 on QuizoApps, and that's about it. Will try it all when I'm at the W11 computer.

That one might be okay, I just remember the beta's being really buggy...

@Edwin - Soo. Am all up and running with the 100 day trial of SAB, and I tried QTTabbar v1043, and it wouldn't even show up in Explorer.

So I uninstalled them both reinstalled SAB afresh, and left the settings on default, I then installed the v2048 beta that I was on, and it seems to be running happily along.

So now Windows 11 tabs and QTtabbar are running side by side, which is fine. Thanks for the assist. ;-)

I must say, 2048 Beta 2 looks much more refined! (y)

Hi @Edwin I know you are a qttabbar experienced user :)
I currently run windows 11 23H2 and beta 2048 qttabbar ( on one of my PCs and first experience win 11 for couple weeks ) and I have this issue : can't set transparency / opacity on subfolder menu like on my other PCs under win 10 but qttabar 1039 . I tried 1038 but no more luck with just opacity in settings but nothing else to set ( no slider no % value just the line opacity
Do you have the same pb under 2048 ?
Thanks for help !

Hi Edwin thanks for replys and SS . so I presume I have an issue on windows 11 or some third party app because you have the ability to set a value to opacity and I don't ... I don't have lot of apps on this PC though I give an eye on startallback and explorer patcher installed , might be one of them making trouble with qttabbar

Appearance wise, I prefer the 2048 Version, it just looks more refined..., there are, however, a few bugs, and a couple of elements missing.

Functionality wise, I like the 1038 version, although it won't invoke the Dark Magic thing.
Also, I like the Desktop Tool available in the Taskbar...

Sorry but what is the " dark magic thing ? " the startallback feature ?
Yeah..., never mind about that, it was just a stab in the dark on my part...,
something weird about Explorer, QTTabBar and StartAllBack working together on different Windows versions!

An anomaly with version 2048:
If I restart Explorer, the Desktop Tool disables itself, have to restart the machine to enable it again.
