The one thing I miss from Win10 is the Desktop choice on the Taskbar, could easily find something without having to minimize, gives a clickable pop-up list of the icons.

Most likely it's the length of the name of the file or icon name and making/adjusting the space to accommodate more. It's just like the Desktop, not Static like a picture on the wall but Dynamic, always changing/refreshing but quickly and not always noticed.

My first computer in '92, new job in computer store/shop 2 years later, still working at it and still have a machine with MS-DOS 6 and Windows 3.1. At 83 having issue with where I've stored everything, mostly mindwork.

Without any customization, I get the full thing, but I have to touch the clock with my mouse cursor to see the day and month all spelled out.

I'm used to the two times showing as the career I retired from some time ago required use of UTC/GMT on a continuous basis. I even had a Seiko wristwatch with a dual-time display, analog and small digital.

I had a similar history as I was often working on overseas projects so set local and project time. it also meant that I quickly switched to the 24 hour clock, [aka Military Time] as it can be embarrassing to call a client after midnight :o

I was an Air Traffic Controller, both in the Navy and FAA, maritime shipping and aviation cross a number of time zones in their daily work and a standard reference is needed, hence the UTC/GMT.

Not exactly the same options, but I do see dddd in the long date so I selected this. Currently running a restore to my second HGST drive so I'll have to wait before I can reboot. I'll see what comes of changing the long date. I don't get the option for short date that is in your picture. When I click on "additional settings" I get this:

    I own too many laptops: A Dell touch screen with Windows 11 and 6 others (not counting the other four laptops I bought for this household.) Being a PC builder I own many desktop PCs as well. I am a father of five providing PCs, laptops, and tablets for all my family, most of which I have modified, rebuilt, or simply built from scratch. I do not own a cell phone, never have, never will.
