The Windows Eleven Thing

So..., are there any posts praising the far superiority of the Windows 11 Operating System???
Not really, the non-posts means folks are quite satisfied with their systems. Or as a line in a song says, if the phone doesn't ring it's me not calling. For some users it's appears to be more fun in bashing things when they don't work as desired rather than trying to figure out what was being done at the time of the issue. Sometimes using third-party software/add-ins doesn't work as desired.

Edwin,
Thanks again for some GREAT music. That little girl playing that BIG pipe organ was really Working that Machine!
I've never learned how to play the Pipe Organ, but as a much younger man I was an amateur Organ Tech. The little church I was attending had an old Hinners Tracker Pipe organ that had fallen into disrepair. Our organist was frustrated by how many keys and foot pedals didn't work.
I and an Organist friend of mine worked for several weekends, repairing that old Pipe organ. I had to MAKE several parts to get things working again. For instance, the Low G foot pedal had not worked for decades, and the organist used that as a foot rest.
I was sitting right behind the organist, the morning he came in, turned on the Blowers, rested his left foot on the Low G pedal and it honked at him.
He turned around, looked right at me, and gave my a big grin. That morning we had the first Bach processional played in that church in many peoples memory. You just can't play Bach without the foot pedals!

I just love fixing things, whether it's a Pipe Organ or a PC.

Once I get on U-Tube and start listening to GREAT music, I'm hooked!

😃 I’m thinking of pointing one of my CCTV cameras at the gauge and placing an old iPooped in the shower in a waterproof casing 😄
Anyways I typed “NO GAS” into Win11 search and it told me I probably owe money.

As amazing as the 32' Bombard is, it's even more amazing to me that the artist played the whole thing without one sheet of music, or an assistant.
(unlike that girl in the first piece)
The biggest pipe in the Hammond Castle Organ is wooden and is located in a 75' tall stone tower on one corner of the castle. I've stood there in the great hall when that organ was being played. When that big wooden pipe plays, it literally shakes the whole castle. It's almost a religious experience.
I used to love that TV show where Diane Bish toured the world, playing the biggest and best organs of the world.
Just a Sample:
That woman can really work those foot pedals!!! And, she changes her own Stops (couplers).

I don't know what all this has to do with Windows 11, but I'm really glad for the opportunity to listen to some great music again. Honestly, I need to do that more often.
Thank you!

I think we ca organize Profit-Corp VS Normal Person.

Profit mass-produce and sells us software and hardware which is not worth the money and time and is not customized to our specific needs.

Normal Person (this is each of us and all of us as a whole) modifies it so it's suitable for their needs.

So Normal Person must make a Wiki KnoledgeBase and organize app possible scenarios in a Tree-like manner, so that

Normal Person is independent from Profit and to manage the risk of losing the tools which Profit sold to Normal Person at a weirdly high price in the first place.

That's it.

The current organization is quite disorganized.

It's a conspiracy against Normal Person where Normal Persons resources are slowly drained by all kinds of problems and decay, everything breaks, there is no fix, no cure.

The FIX and the cure is to have ONE knowledgebase for self-service plus the contacts of the pro service technicians.

Actually, I wanted to make such a website and software, to alleviate all the pains and help to address each one's very specific need, while still letting business such as mass-manufactuers and service centers, play in the space and offer their solutions.

My Computer

Profit mass-produce and sells us software and hardware which is not worth the money and time…
Not at all true. Not worth the money and time for ‘some’ people.

Actually, I wanted to make such a website and software, to alleviate all the pains and help to address each one's very specific need…
Software excluded. What do you think this forum is for? It’s here to alleviate peoples needs.
If you create a software that fills the niche of users that aren’t happy, your excluding the ones that are happy. Aren’t you?

Edit; The current ”organisation” isn’t disorganised, it’s having difficulty creating a balance. There is no “conspiracy” that’s just rubbish.
What you’re saying is that you’re frustrated? Is this why you’re switching to Linux? Because Linux is perfect?

    …still on a horse.
I wanted to somehow upgrade two very old Dell laptops, that were running Windows 8.1/Pro/32.
Since they absolutely Could Not run anything 64 bit, the latest OS I could install was Windows 10/Pro/32.

I found the exact ISO I needed on my trusted source, downloaded the ISO, burned it to a Flash Drive, using Rufus, and installed it on a little laptop drive, all on my Main Desktop PC. Beginning at 4:AM yesterday morning. *
* I use my MAIN desktop PC, because it's the fastest PC I own.

I put that little laptop HD in the first Dell laptop, and as I was sure it would, it settled in, with no complaints, and made itself right at home. With that laptop busy doing updates, etc., I began the install to the second laptop.

That was a direct install to the 120GB SSD in that laptop, from my Flash Drive.
When I finally was able to get to bed, at 10:30 last night, I was happy to have two of my old Dell laptops upgraded from Win-8.1, to Win-10/Pro/32.
Since neither laptop can run anything 64 bit, this last upgrade will be their last.

I said all that, to let Y'all know that if you have an old PC, that cannot run any 64 bit OS, there is a viable option for an Upgrade, like, from Win-7 or Win-8.1. *
* Windows 11 comes in a 64 bit version, ONLY.
Windows 10/Pro/32 is the answer, and it's readily available. I'll gladly give my source to anyone who PMs me and asks.**

My Computer

I got a bargain yesterday, an older SFF Dell Inspiron Core2 3.00GHz, 4GB, 500GB, nice 24 inch Dell monitor $50.00 [lady cleaning house after husband's death]. It came with Win7 and Upgraded to Win10, also can't go to Win11. I don't need it but have a couple families in the church that may need it and I can claim it as a donation.

Anyway, I also used the MCT/Media Creation Tool to download Win10 .iso file for creating the DVD but have to use the DVD+R/DL disc as it is for both 64-bit and 32-bit, too large to fit a DVD-R or DVD+R disc.

The only issue I ran into in upgrading from older 32-bit version Windows is the limit of RAM, can't display the full 4GB, only about 3.5GB.

I also have an older Acer Aspire Notebook with Vista, may try putting Win10 on it one of these days.

Sorry, that is completely wrong.

Actually Beaulieu is pronounced Bew-Lee (Bew is like new).

I grew up 5 miles from it and used to travel through the village every day on the way to school.

I did in fact know that it was pronounced that way in the UK, once when I was visiting I went to Lord Montague's Motor Museum in Hampshire.
I have heard it pronounced bowlu over here, but we all know what American pronunciation is like ;-)

I own a Dell 530 Inspiron with a genuine Windows 7 32 bit DVD from Dell with sticker that I upgraded to Win 10 with without a hitch. I never thought that I'd need it and I let my children use it when they were younger. Then one day I was having the time of my life with flashing an HBA card in IT mode. Both my friend and myself could not figure out what was wrong so we decided to try the card out on the DELL. We popped in the card, inserted the USB stick, booted it up and flashed the DOS to the card. The card worked after that like it came out of the factory. Turned out we needed an older PC with a REAL BIOS capable of executing 32 bit instruction.

People wonder why I hang onto old hardware and this is just one example of how old hardware has bailed out my new hardware, saving it from the mountain of e-waste that precious few care to consider. I think I know which group you're talking about there, Wizmeister. I've mentioned them a few times in this forum already and if I broke the rules doing so I apologize. I think I'll ask the crew over at Level 1 Techs about Get Into PC and see what they have to say. I do know that they're great for resurrecting old PCs and laptops and helping students who can't afford software they need to further themselves in college or whatever. One of my daughters uses a Gen 2 OS without issue and Kaspersky gave it a clean bill of health so I'm thinking it's safe. Like you, I won't post the link here because I don't want to violate any rules but I think people should be free to openly discuss such things in an adult forum without fear of censorship.

As for Win 10 Pro on those old laptops, never say "last" unless you want them to last. There's still Linux.
