I always set it to use the rgb profile personally but have not done it on 11 yet or even if it's possible.

Not what I am talking about, more accurately I was referring to the different standard RGB gamut, for example sRGB and aRGB or native (monitor gamut). I often use Adobe RGB or native RGB monitor calibrated profiles for photo editing, but with their wide color gamut, non-color managed applications, desktop, etc look like over-saturated poo. For everyday use I use sRGB which the standard gamut that windows etc. expect and the gamut of most monitors cover this color space.

It isn't broken for me. My NEC pro monitor calibrated just fine without issue using NEC's Spectreview software with an X-Rite i1Pro colorimeter (puck). No issues here. It also sticks.

It might be broken for some with certain applications, but that doesn't mean it's broken for everyone using Windows 11.

Yeah, I know tit isn't, I was talking about my situation, not yours.

I didn't say it was broken for everyone did I? NEC doesn't provide verification on their color profiles. But it is broken for me any oother other Eizo owners and also anyone that uses X-rite i1-profiler and associated display puck to calibrate and validate their monitors. It is a Windows 11 bug.

I just calibrated my Dell U2415 monitor on my backup system running Windows 11 Education (insiders) with X-rite's i1 Profiler software (version 3.3.0) and the included X-rite i1Disply puck. Calibration went just fine. This was my color management before the calibration. Note there's no profile there...

This after the calibration...

And the profile works cause if I untick the "Use my settings for this device" box the monitor gets brighter and the colors shift. That says the profile is working.

That said, I'm not saying there aren't issues, I just don't think the issue is a Windows 11 bug (not for me) as I've shown two different calibration software packages working under both Windows 11 Pro RTM and Windows 11 Education (insiders) on two different PC's.

But I'll move on.

The fact that you cannot read the ICC profiles - that is the bug. If you calibrate and set the profile, and don't try to read the profile back it will work. With the Eizo color Navigator, you can switch profiles, so the software needs to read the profile. Also, If I use the X-rite i1-profiler and the i1-display pro to calibrate my Viewsonic monitor, it will work like your NEC does. But if I try to do a validation pass on it with the i1-profiler, it fails because it cannot read the ICC profile.

And I will re-post what ISO says about it in their Windows 11 comparability statement:

Keeping Windows 11 on my Fully Supported desktop for sure, very happy with OS responsiveness, gaming performance, and other productivity improvements. Unsupported Gaming Laptop and Other Unsupported Desktop upgrading those entire systems soon as can afford to sometime before 2025

Targetted for Moms Desktop sometime in 2022 to upgrade that system with a Windows 11 Computer, Gaming Laptop 2022-2023 Targetted for Replacement or sooner if funds allow

I don't remember that, but I do remember another color management discussion we had here. Point is I also understand color management, to include monitor calibration, so I'd know if it wasn't working; especially since I use it when printing my own work

As I've shown, Windows 11 is reading ICC profiles just fine.... on two different OS versions, under two different machines, with two different monitors and monitor calibration software packages, so...

That said, again, not disputing you have an issue with your software; not even disputing there's an issue with Eizo and Windows 11. I'm just thinking if it's a bug, it's limited to a specific software or software version.

BTW, I just got off the phone X-rite's tech support and was informed they no longer own i1Display. Its now owned by Calibrite. This is what they report...

ColorChecker Profiling Applications – Windows 11 Compatibility.

Currently, all ColorChecker profiling applications can create camera, monitor, projector and printer profiles with the pre-release versions of Window 11. However, on some computer hardware configurations, we have seen technical issues when using the before and after profile comparisons and display QA. These issues are currently under investigation.

We do not anticipate any further problems with the final version of the Windows 11 operating system but can’t guarantee this until the full release is available from Microsoft.
