Windows 11 24H2 Build 26100.1742
Hi everyone.

I'm on Windows 11. I think it's Windows 11 Home. Running a Dell Inspiron 7700 A/O. On "Winver" it tells me i am Windows 11 22H2 Build 22621.4317.

Every now and again I look for updates but on doing this today I get the message "Windows Update - Attention needed" so I search for updates. Then I receive the message "Your version of Windows has reached end of service".

Can anybody advise me if that is OK or should I be able, somehow, to upgrade to a newer version ?

On looking around on here it seems 22H2 is ancient. Am I being let down by someone here do you think.

I'd really appreciate anyone's advice and assistance as I'm no Windows Guru I'm afraid. Thanks very much

Steve

The question is: Why your computer still running on 22h2 and not 24h2?
Did you upgraded from Win 10?

Hi, welcome.

You should be able to:

1. Run the enablement package which should take you from 22H2 to 23H2.
2. Then reboot and check for Windows Updates (& possibly “Optional Updates”)
2.1 Note: If Windows Update hasn’t offered you the 24H2 upgrade — follow on to 3.
3. Then if you choose to, you can download the latest 24H2 ISO from Microsoft.
4. Then, with the latest ISO from Microsoft, perform an In-Place Upgrade to 24H2.

Read and follow the tutorials properly

1. Install the Enablement Package

2. Check for Windows Updates (You probably know how to)

3. Download the latest 24H2 ISO

4. Perform an In-Place Upgrade

Personally, I’m staying on 23H2 until further notice.

Coincidentally, I just had to do this with a laptop that was still on 22H2. I don't know how I finally got it to happen but I kept messing with it and looking for updates and eventually I got it up to date. As far as advice, the only advice I have is just keep messing with it.

That'll teach me to read the whole thread before I spout off.

Now I wish I'd come here and asked for help. I wouldn't have been pulling half my hair out messing with updates.
