What you’re saying is that you’re frustrated? Is this why you’re switching to Linux? Because Linux is perfect?

This is a universal project not only for computers but everything which is repairable. Including humans.

There is a conspiracy it's called Profit to profit is to conspire against the uneducated. If you believe otherwise, you may be naive.

There is no organization, there is pure madness, in a complex system there are two possibilities optimized flow and unoptimized flow.

No need to discuss this, I am not going to nullify the online forums with my project idea, check out Wikipedia organization and rules, right to repair laws, principles of 'the law', DAO principles, and AI decision making principles. Hopefully this klnowledge will give you the perspective. But going to the gym daily is also required 'reading material' so take care.

I think I'll ask the crew over at Level 1 Techs about Get Into PC and see what they have to say. I do know that they're great for resurrecting old PCs and laptops and helping students who can't afford software they need to further themselves in college or whatever. One of my daughters uses a Gen 2 OS without issue and Kaspersky gave it a clean bill of health so I'm thinking it's safe. Like you, I won't post the link here because I don't want to violate any rules but I think people should be free to openly discuss such things in an adult forum without fear of censorship.

As for Win 10 Pro on those old laptops, never say "last" unless you want them to last. There's still Linux.

The other DAO has interesting concepts however they may be over-simplified. Much like how I over-simplified the concept of "conspiracy" to be easier for you to understand what I am saying.

You mentioned I should not "try Linux community they will tear me to pieces" They are welcome to say their worst I have extremely low expectations from "them" as long as they keep my systems stable, they can be obscenely insane as always, lol.

There is no "community engagement" required for such a platform project as I described. It's just work but Im too lazy to start this project so I was thinking to give it to someone to make. Not you, don't worry. No idea who when how etc. Basically I don't care , just saying what I am thinking based on the first post in the thread , so that hopefully whoever reads this thread will be a bit more knowledgeable about what really IS and not what .... have been marketed to them as a consumer, as a walking wallet to be exploited.

As long as "the Linux community" knows the US constitution how and why it works, then they can get crazy it won't "tear me to pieces"

As a matter of fact I am worried I kicked their a$$ recently arguing about some core things. I better keep quiet and not discourage their projects and focus on my own.

Hi folks
I think as they say in the aviation industry about tired pilots " Maximum Impairment Fatigue Index" has been reached when analysing plane accidents if Pilot error is suspected. --- I think this thread has got to the same point now. As a person with a PPL I can certainly testify that I've seen many commercial pilots looking a lot more stressed out than they should be these days. Seems cuts and corporate profits are the only things that matter in C21. I'm 100% no socialist but this lot of world politicians and corporate CEO's are going to mean that it all ends in tears for all of us.

On that pessimistic note I'm going to find some alternate joy in the local "hostelry" even though some billionaire Canadian Hedge fund operative (nothing against Canada though -- beautiful and friendly country) will probably be getting 70% of the price of my "fluid of choice", our Govt (which I didn't vote for as it seems to advocate pulling out of NATO -- rediculous decision but not supported thankfully by most Icelanders) another 27% while the poor bar owner gets a paltry 3%.

I hate that myself. Used to be all the Office Apps would show under one folder in Start.

That said, I doubt it's a "Windows 11 Start Menu" thing as it's the same under Windows 10. This appears to be the way Office (for me 365) installs now

Anyway, I just pin the apps I use the most (Word, Excel, Outlook, Notes) to the Taskbar and go from there

I rename the shortcuts abnormally so they'll fall into a normal hierarchy!
(The Menu is still lame, though!)
