Another problem if I do that I do no longer have my password keeper so no clue now of what my Microsoft account is and this is a digital version of Win 11 product so I do not have the actual product license number if I reinstall from a thumb drive iso file. And I do not want to have to purchase Windows 11 if I can help it.

Does anyone have any ideas ??? I am wrung out trying to figure things out it is so tangled up. Thanks for any ideas

Hotmail still works just fine. I have one also.

You just don’t login at hotmail.com anymore, they now use the same login page as outlook.com addresses at Microsoft

Sign in to your Microsoft account

login.live.com login.live.com

As for confirming if your old Hotmail account is or isn’t your Microsoft account.

Like I showed you in post number 32 on page 2 of this thread.​
  1. Open Windows Settings :win: WIN + i keyboard keys
  2. Click on Accounts (on the left)
  3. Click on Email & Accounts (on the right)
  4. The top email address should have Windows typed under it.
  5. This is your Microsoft Account email address (windows username)
There is probably only one email address for you in this section, whereas I have many for different reasons.

Then if you can’t remember your password, you can Reset your password after finding your Microsoft Account email (which is also your username)

I’m a little perplexed that you were able to upgrade to 24H2 (albeit with a few issues) yet you’re having a problem navigating this forum software, or finding out via settings what your Microsoft account is.

So it actually was a hoax?

Seems a little pointless. I suppose there might have been some fun because of the scurrying around of male forumites trying to help a damsel in distress. (I was one of those, too.)
