Windows 11 24H2 re-upgrade from 23H2

I recent reset the computer OS from Windows 11 24H2 to 23H2 due to some update problems, then re-upgrade it back to 24H2 but all KB updates related to 24H2 are now gone.

Also, the weather and such no longer appear on the lock screen even though the settings for Lock screen status is set to "weather"

I see the update history with Windows 11 ver. 24H2 only , with no other KB updates related to 24H2 being installed . The "Get the latest updates as soon as they 're available" is set in Windows Update settings. I keep clicking on "check for updates" button , but nothing is bring downloaded or installed.

Does the 24H2 update only update the OS , no related KB updates are included? I have to download/install each KB update manually ?

In Windows site download the ISO version, extract it with 7z, Winrar or else.
Backup your personal data, if you are using online account use it to backup.
Execute the serut and Update from there but with a clean install.
Restore your data.

Is the best option.

Windows Build/Version: 24H2 OS Build 26100.1

Are you truly on build 26100.1? What does running Winver say?

Please type “Winver” into the search or run bar and click enter. Report the full build.

I used Winver to get the build number. I used the "check for updates" to reinstall 24H2.

People here are unpaid but clever volunteers. They ask for information to help diagnose your situtation.

So, what version does winver report?

if the latest is 24H2 26100.3775, then the "check for updates" is not giving me the latest for some reasons. I am using System -> Recovery ->Fix Problems using Windows update now , it says it is downloading the "repair version" of 24H2. I don't really have any problem except not getting the latest build and the missing lock screen "weather and such". Hopefully I can get back to this forum later after the "repair" .

My other question is even after I get the latest build , do I have to reinstall all the past KB updates (including the cumulative ones) related to 24H2 (don't even know how to get every single KB update for 24H2) ? Right now , on update history, I only have all those updates related to 23H2 listed , all the 24H2 updates are gone. I am relying on the "Check for updates" feature to re-install all the past 24H2 updates, but so far nothing else is being downloaded/installed except 24H2 itself. The "Get the latest updates as soon as they're available" setting in Windwos Update is turned on.

26100.1 Is not the correct build that we are asking for.

I did give you the build I have , please see my last reply with an IMAGE. This build is directly from "Check for update" feature downloading .

If there is a cumulative update not showing, follow this to go to optional updates and check in there.
You could also toggle the get the latest…. In Windows Update To on.

You can also see the build number in Settings > System > About. Scroll down to Windows Specifications.

If yours says 26100.1 then something is not right. That build was only ever available as an Insider build, the first public release of 24H2 was 26100.863 (for Copilot+ PCs initially).

If you are on 26100.1 then that would explain all your issues. An in-place repair upgrade, using a 24H2 ISO downloaded from Microsoft, should fix your issues. That's Option Two step #4 onwards in this tutorial.

I'm not sure how it's even possible to get 26100.1 now, all the standard ways to upgrade from 23H2 to 24H2 would have given you a much higher build than that. What did you use to do the upgrade?

Whatever, an in-place repair upgrade with an ISO from Microsoft should get you back on track. Tutorial link in post #19.
