What do you mean?

Things an In-Place Upgrade can do...

1. Repair Windows and keep your programs
2. Repair Windows and remove all your programs.
3. Upgrade from one numerical version of Windows, to another, and keep your programs or... not.
4. Upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11, and keep your programs or... not.

An In-Place Upgrade can NOT switch from Windows Home to Pro, or the reverse.

I mean after the installation, it didn’t downgrade to windows 11 home, but rather remained the same windows 11 Pro that I am trying to change and don’t have an access key for.

Here are the steps to "downgrade" from Win 11 Pro to Win 11 Home...

This involves THREE main steps...

1. Do the registry patch.
2. Do the In-Place Upgrade
3. Change the product key.

It is "similar" to just an In-Place Upgrade... but not exactly the same.

How do I change the product key please, because the current product key I have I was told it is that of a home and not a pro, that is exactly why I want to downgrade from Windows 11 Pro to windows 11 home

There's not really an "easy" way. Just use pictures and links and be descriptive when stating the problem.

Okay let me shed more clarity on the details of the information. Now I followed the steps as shown in the link,

1. I did the registry step

2. I downloaded the windows 11 through ISO and saved it on my computer, then I installed it, checked the “keep my files and apps” as instructed.

Now when my pc finished with the installation, I was expecting to see “Windows 11 Home” , but instead it’s still showing “Windows 11 Pro and asking me to activate” I don’t know if you understand now.

Now when my pc finished with the installation, I was expecting to see “Windows 11 Home” , but instead it’s still showing “Windows 11 Pro and asking me to activate” I don’t know if you understand now.

When in this tutorial... you want to do step #8...

In step #8 things in "yellow" are... links to other tutorials. Like the "Change product key" tutorial.

On TenForums and ElevenForum, there are tutorials for... everything.
Sometimes... finding them is the hard part. But they will be there... somewhere. :-)

In these forums... it's pretty much safe to... click on anything. There is tons of stuff hidden under links in the tutorials.
There are so many tutorials, that the author put links to related tutorials.... IN the tutorials and at the bottom of tutorials.

You may have to reboot the computer to apply the changes.

There are many things like... some registry patches, some tweak tools, some commands... that require a reboot before they take effect. For me... I just made it a habit to reboot after I change something, and still haven't seen the change.

If I was doing the Downgrade tutorial, I would do it like this...

1. Apply the registry patch, then reboot.
2. Do the In-Place Upgrade.
3. Change the product key, then reboot.

And... if it still didn't work, I would cry, cuss, throw things, then wait for @Brink (our tutorial guy), to come online and explain what I did wrong. Right now... he's probably still in bed, dreaming about the "next" tutorial. :D

Okay I think I’m beginning to understand you a bit better now, so probably the fact that I didn’t reboot after applying the registry patch, could be what made it not to change??

So I should redo the whole process again but reboot after each step??

It's possible. Some registry patches just apply immediately. Some require us to restart Explorer, some require a reboot.
So I just reboot every time.
Here... I think it's time to send out the @Brink signal...

BRINK signal2.png

Like I said... he's probably still in bed, or maybe at church? Give him a couple hours.
He needs time to go to the Brink-cave, put on his Brink-suit, fire up the Brink-mobile, and come to the rescue. :-)
