Solved BSOD: How does one run the V2 Log Collector on the BSOD PC?

There were multiple driver problems:

IRST was replaced after troubleshooting.

Memory integrity problem drivers deleted.

I followed directions on running Driver Verifier. I got this immediately on reboot:
1731583039337.png
There was no message about restarting itself. My lighted keyboard went dark. It was not responding. I shut the computer down. This screen continued. I booted from the USB MCT and restored. Upon reboot in went through a diagnosing and repair to give me this familiar BSOD:
1731583286575.jpeg
Hitting Restart here booted normally with note that the restore had been completed successfully.

There is one thing that is odd. If I try a Restart now, the screen goes dark, I hear the usual click/small beep for restarting. However, nothing happens after that. The power button flash on and off. I have to press the power button to shut down. If from within Windows I do a Shut down, it shut downs normally. Requesting it to Sleep works normally.

1) Read this link on Windows Driver Verifier (WDV):

Enable and Disable Driver Verifier in Windows 10

2) Create a new restore point

3) Learn the methods to recover from BSOD caused by WDV by booting into safe mode and running one or more of these commands:

verifier /reset

verifier /bootmode resetonbootfail

4) Plan to run the tool for approximately 48 hours with various customized test settings.

a) Test all non-Microsoft drivers

b) Test no Microsoft drivers

5) Whenever the WDV tool is started if there is no immediate BSOD then open administrative command prompt and copy and paste:

verifier /querysettings

Post a share link.

WDV can run continuously during the testing.

Varying customized tests will be posted for each run of WDV.

For each WDV BSOD recover by options #7 or #9:

Run one or more of these commands:

verifier /reset

verifier /bootmode resetonbootfail

A system restore is only performed if the above commands fail to turn off the tool.

After about a minute, BSOD. I did this a couple of times trying to figure out how to get the information.

For each WDV BSOD recover by options #7 or #9:

Run one or more of these commands:

verifier /reset

verifier /bootmode resetonbootfail

A system restore is only performed if the above commands fail to turn off the tool.

However, I was screwing things up. The verifier reset using option #7 showed that it was not reset.

Well here is the V2 up to this point. MAIN-COMPUTER-(2024-11-14_16-23-23).zip

WDV appears to be running now if I understand the query correctly.

The driver dbx.sys showed a date of today 5:45 pm. Deleted it anyway. Started up Dropbox which reinstalled it with today's date and same time.

Did that. Got immediate BSOD with no percentages shown. Followed hardboot (recover option #9) route to get to a startup in Safe Mode with Command Prompt.

While there I did do a "verifier /querysettings" which showed that the five tests above were correct. They were there. Maybe I should have take a picture of the listing but did not. Then executed verifier /reset follwed by a shutdown /r

By the way, I happened to notice before these steps that Device Manager is not working and is still not.

Run verifier /querysettings only when there is no WDV BSOD.

Run V2 when there is a WDV BSOD.

If possible temporarily uninstall and reinstall Dropbox software.

Run Tuneup plus > post a share link

Run Windows updates.

Create a new restore point.

I did a restore but had to remove the logitech drivers again. Device manager working properly. I uninstalled Dropbox. Also, ran Windows Update. Only thing was the Malicious Removal tool.

Ran this again
